Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,861 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,861 m of the 4,095 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 359 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft, an Airbus A320, taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, taking approximately 5 minutes to cover a distance of 1 nautical mile. The departure roll took place on runway 04R, with the aircraft taking off after covering 52% of the runway's length. The takeoff distance was 1,811 meters, and the liftoff speed was 174 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of -2°C temperature and a wind speed of 2 knots at 350°. The crosswind and headwind components were both 2 knots. The enroute climb began approximately 1 mile north of the airport, with the aircraft ascending from an altitude of 1,672 feet above sea level to 34,090 feet above sea level, an increase of 32,418 feet in 13 minutes, covering a distance of 96 nautical miles.
Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 2 miles north of the Dave Rice Ultralightport in Lima, Ohio. This phase lasted for 34 minutes, during which the aircraft covered a distance of 689 nautical miles. The cruise phase was followed by an enroute descent, which began overhead the Flying H Field in Paris, Texas. The aircraft descended from an altitude of 34,292 feet above sea level to 1,858 feet above sea level, a decrease of 32,433 feet in 28 minutes, covering a distance of 88 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its final approach to runway 35C at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport from the south. The aircraft was at an altitude of 1,286 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were -2°C temperature and a wind speed of 8 knots at 340°, with a crosswind component of 3 knots and a headwind component of 8 knots.
The aircraft landed on runway 35C, which had a length of 4,095 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 138 knots. The touchdown distance was 361 meters, which was within the acceptable range. However, the touchdown speed of 134 knots was a little fast, and the touchdown rate of -225 feet per minute was fair. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
Following the landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, taking approximately 3 minutes to cover a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 881 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 84 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 7,570 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed on runway 35C at KDFW Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, achieving a high score of 98.8%. The aircraft approached the runway from the south, heading directly towards the runway at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,286 feet above ground level.
The pilot executed a precise final approach, taking into account the local weather conditions. The temperature was a chilly -2 °C, and the wind was blowing at 8 knots from a direction of 340 °. This resulted in a crosswind of 3 knots and a headwind of 8 knots, which the pilot effectively managed during the landing.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 138 knots. However, the touchdown speed of 134 knots was slightly faster than ideal, which may have contributed to a fair touchdown rate of -225 feet per minute. Despite this, the runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the pilot maintained control and stability throughout the landing.
The total landing distance of 1,777 meters was 43% of the runway length, which is a reasonable distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, demonstrating the pilot's skill and expertise in controlling the aircraft during the landing phase.
Overall, the landing was a success, with the pilot executing a precise and controlled approach, despite the challenging weather conditions. The Airbus A320's performance was impressive, and the pilot's skills were evident throughout the landing.
