MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Arrival
Begin the flare with progressive back pressure and keep it coming until the sink is arrested, rather than flying it on flat.
What happened: The nose was barely raised in the flare and little of the sink was taken out, flying the aircraft onto the runway. This pattern usually carries through to a firm touchdown with a noticeable sink rate.
Watch for: Vertical speed indicator: a smoothly reducing sink through the normal flare band, not a steady rate into the runway.
Preparing for a stable approach will give you time to decide on whether to attempt the landing or going around. Too much altitude with a high sink rate will result in carrying too much speed onto the runway. Configuring flaps and the gear late also won't help the speed decay.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
At the 1,000 ft gate: speed above the reference speed.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 2,178 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 2,178 m of the 3,105 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 464 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft, an Airbus A321, taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Košice International Airport (LZKZ). This process took 7 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then departed from runway 19, with a takeoff distance of 976 meters, which accounted for 31% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 140 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions of 34°C temperature and winds of 8 knots at 160 degrees. The crosswind was 4 knots, while the headwind was 7 knots. After departing from Košice International Airport, the aircraft began its enroute climb, which started overhead the airport. The climb took the aircraft from an altitude of 1,754 feet above sea level to 3,582 feet above sea level, an increase of 1,828 feet in just 1 minute, covering a distance of 3 nautical miles.
Following the initial climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise, which started 1 mile southwest of Haniska Airstrip (LZKI). This cruise phase lasted for 2 minutes and covered a distance of 4 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent, which started 4 miles north of Gonc, Hungary. The descent took the aircraft from an altitude of 3,585 feet above sea level to 3,050 feet above sea level, a decrease of 535 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 5 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started overhead Haniska Airstrip and lasted for 6 minutes, covering a distance of 3 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 01 at Košice International Airport was made from the south, with a heading of 14.0 degrees at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,364 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 01 was successful, with a touchdown speed of 127 knots, which was slightly above the target speed. The touchdown point was 49 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown rate was fair at -299 feet per minute. However, the runway touchdown position was misaligned by 9.5 meters from the centreline. The local weather conditions during landing were 32°C temperature and winds of 5 knots at 159 degrees, with a crosswind of 3 knots and a tailwind of 4 knots.
The total landing distance was 2,098 meters, which accounted for 68% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned by 9.5 meters from the centreline. After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, which took 2 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 22 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 18 minutes. The aircraft used 853 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A321 aircraft successfully landed at LZKZ Košice International Airport, achieving a score of 95.6%. The final approach to runway 01 was conducted from the south, with a heading of 14.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,364 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft touched down on the runway, which has a length of 3,105 meters.
The threshold height was reported as good, but the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 132 knots. The touchdown point was 49 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, indicating a slight deviation from the intended landing spot. The touchdown speed of 127 knots was a little fast, and the touchdown rate of -299 feet per minute (fpm) was considered fair.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 32°C and a wind speed of 5 knots from a direction of 159°. The crosswind component was 3 knots, while the tailwind component was 4 knots. These conditions did not appear to significantly impact the landing.
The total landing distance was 2,098 meters, which represents 68% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 9.5 meters from the centerline, indicating a minor deviation from the intended path. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft achieving a high score despite some minor deviations from the ideal landing parameters.
