MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 2,375 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 2,375 m of the 2,914 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 1,282 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 10 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft, an Airbus A321, then departed from runway 25 at EDDS Stuttgart Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,372 meters, which is 45% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 158 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were a temperature of 12°C, with a wind speed of 13 knots at 230°. This resulted in a crosswind of 5 knots and a headwind of 12 knots. The aircraft then took off and began its enroute climb, which started overhead EDDS Stuttgart Airport. The climb took 22 minutes and covered a distance of 142 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from 2,309 feet above sea level to 35,009 feet above sea level, an increase of 32,699 feet.
After reaching the cruising altitude, the aircraft entered a level cruise, which lasted for 37 minutes and covered a distance of 294 nautical miles. This phase of the flight took place 1 mile north of Gletterens, in the Canton de Fribourg, Switzerland. Following the cruise, the aircraft began its enroute descent, which started 42 miles east of Cadaques, in the Catalunya region of Spain. The descent took 20 minutes and covered a distance of 116 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from 35,024 feet above sea level to 1,282 feet above sea level, a decrease of 33,742 feet.
The final approach to runway 24R at LEBL Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport was made from the north-east, heading 246.0°, at an altitude of 4 nautical miles and 1,261 feet above ground level. However, the aircraft was required to perform a go-around at 15 feet above ground level. The aircraft then landed on runway 24R, which has a length of 2,914 meters. The threshold height was good, but the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 145 knots. The touchdown point was 868 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 132 knots, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was good at -183 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.1 meters from the centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 15°C, with a wind speed of 8 knots at 240°. This resulted in a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 7 knots. The total landing distance was 2,296 meters, which is 79% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 2 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 597 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 103 minutes. The aircraft used 4,911 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A321 aircraft successfully landed on runway 24R at LEBL Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport, achieving an overall score of 84.0%. The final approach was initiated from the north east, heading 246.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,261 feet above ground level (agl).
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway, with the threshold height being significantly above the target at 81 feet agl. However, the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 141 knots. The second landing attempt showed an improvement in threshold height, but the threshold speed was again slightly above the target at 145 knots.
The touchdown point was located 868 meters beyond the touchdown zone, indicating that the aircraft landed slightly further down the runway than intended. The touchdown speed of 132 knots was a little fast, but the touchdown rate of -183 feet per minute (fpm) was good. Additionally, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.1 meters from the centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 15°C, with a wind speed of 8 knots at 240°. The crosswind component was minimal at 1 knot, while the headwind component was 7 knots. The total landing distance was 2,296 meters, which accounted for 79% of the runway length.
The rollout alignment of the aircraft after landing was very good, indicating that the pilot maintained control and stability during the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with some minor deviations from the target parameters.
