See Departure Roll
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,594 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 533 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 8 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The Airbus A320 then departed from runway 18 at ENZV Stavanger Airport, Sola, with a takeoff distance of 1,215 meters, which accounted for 49% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 163 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 16°C and a wind speed of 10 knots at 170°.
As the aircraft climbed to its cruising altitude, it first ascended from 1,068 feet above sea level to 26,852 feet above sea level, an increase of 25,784 feet, over a distance of 109 nautical miles, and within a time frame of 17 minutes. This climb phase began overhead ENZV Stavanger Airport, Sola, and took the aircraft over various locations in Norway, including Stavanger (Rogaland Fylke) and Lunde (Vestfold og Telemark).
The enroute descent phase started overhead Lunde (Vestfold og Telemark), where the aircraft descended from 26,851 feet above sea level to 9,305 feet above sea level, a decrease of 17,547 feet, over a distance of 70 nautical miles, and within a time frame of 12 minutes. The aircraft then entered a level cruise phase, lasting 6 minutes and covering 30 nautical miles, which began 4 miles northeast of Hallingby (Viken).
The final descent phase started 3 miles southeast of Gjovik (Innlandet), where the aircraft descended from 8,711 feet above sea level to 1,967 feet above sea level, a decrease of 6,744 feet, over a distance of 30 nautical miles, and within a time frame of 9 minutes. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 19R at ENGM Oslo Airport, Gardermoen, from the north, heading 196.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,284 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 19R at ENGM Oslo Airport, Gardermoen, was successful, with the aircraft touching down 119 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was slightly above the target speed at 138 knots, and the touchdown rate was firm at -326 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the runway rollout alignment was also perfect.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 12°C and a wind speed of 14 knots at 180°. The crosswind was 4 knots, and the headwind was 14 knots. The total landing distance was 1,068 meters, which accounted for 30% of the runway. The taxiing to the parking area from the runway took 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 246 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 55 minutes, with a fuel consumption of 2,341 kilograms.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed at ENGM Oslo Airport, Gardermoen, with a score of 96.9%. The aircraft approached the runway from the north, heading 196.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,284 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was made to runway 19R, which has a length of 3,594 meters.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down slightly beyond the touchdown zone, 119 meters past the designated area. The touchdown speed was recorded at 129 knots, which was slightly above the target speed. The touchdown rate was firm, indicating a controlled descent, with a rate of -326 feet per minute (fpm). The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 12°C and a wind speed of 14 knots from a direction of 180°. This resulted in a crosswind of 4 knots and a headwind of 14 knots, which may have contributed to the slightly fast touchdown speed. Despite this, the total landing distance was 1,068 meters, which is 30% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, indicating that the aircraft maintained its alignment with the runway during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was successful, with the aircraft touching down slightly beyond the designated area and experiencing a firm touchdown rate. However, the slightly fast touchdown speed and the need to correct for the crosswind may indicate areas for improvement in the pilot's technique.
