Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 4,265 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 352 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking area to the runway, which took 13 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-700, then departed from runway 31 at Winnipeg / James Armstrong Richardson International Airport, with a takeoff distance of 1,032 meters, which accounted for 39% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 148 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time of departure were a temperature of -22 °C, with a wind speed of 3 knots at 300 °.
As the aircraft climbed out of Winnipeg, it began its enroute climb, which started overhead the airport and took the aircraft from an altitude of 1,788 feet above sea level to 36,203 feet above sea level, an increase of 34,415 feet in just 11 minutes, covering a distance of 95 nautical miles. The enroute climb was followed by a level cruise, which began 4 miles northeast of Bethany, Manitoba, and lasted for 20 minutes, covering a distance of 444 nautical miles.
The enroute descent started 22 miles south of Coronation Airport in Alberta, and took the aircraft from an altitude of 37,028 feet above sea level to 4,792 feet above sea level, a decrease of 32,235 feet in 16 minutes, covering a distance of 109 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 35R at Calgary International Airport was made from the south, with the aircraft heading 0.0 ° at 4 nautical miles and 1,226 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 35R was successful, with a touchdown distance of 353 meters, which was 32% of the runway length. The touchdown speed was a little fast at 134 knots, but the touchdown rate was firm at -347 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.7 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 6 °C, with a wind speed of 19 knots at 270 °.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, which took 5 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 658 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 62 minutes, with the aircraft using 4,411 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-700 aircraft successfully landed at Calgary International Airport, achieving a score of 97.2%. The final approach to runway 35R was initiated from the south, with the aircraft flying at a heading of 0.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,226 feet above ground level.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway with a good threshold height, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. The threshold speed of 137 knots was also within the acceptable range, demonstrating the pilot's ability to manage the aircraft's speed during the landing phase. However, the touchdown speed of 134 knots was slightly faster than desired, which may have resulted in a firmer touchdown rate.
The touchdown rate of -347 feet per minute was firm, indicating a relatively steep descent rate. This may have been a result of the slightly fast touchdown speed. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centreline by 5.7 meters, which may have been due to the crosswind component of 19 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 6°C and a wind speed of 19 knots from a direction of 270°. The crosswind component was 19 knots, while the headwind component was negligible. The total landing distance of 1,346 meters was 32% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing distance.
During the rollout phase, the aircraft's alignment with the runway centreline was very good, demonstrating the pilot's ability to maintain control and stability during the landing phase. Overall, the landing was successful, with the aircraft touching down safely and rolling out in a controlled manner.
