Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate for a circuit: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate is an instrument-approach check and does not apply.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 8,361 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 2,561 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 23 at Kurumoch International Airport, UWWW. The aircraft, a PC-12, accelerated down the runway and lifted off at a speed of 83 knots. The takeoff distance was 1,142 feet, which accounted for 14% of the runway's length.
As the aircraft entered the traffic pattern, it made a left-hand pattern entry from runway 23. This maneuver was completed in less than 1 nautical mile in just 8 seconds. The aircraft then proceeded to make a left-hand pattern crosswind turn, which took approximately 16 seconds to complete. The downwind turn was a critical phase of the flight, with the aircraft turning at an angle of 45 degrees to the runway. This turn covered a distance of 1 nautical mile and was completed in 61 seconds.
After completing the downwind turn, the aircraft began its final approach to runway 23. The landing was executed with precision, with the touchdown point being 787 feet beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 73 knots, which was within the acceptable range, and the touchdown rate was perfect at -41 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was also perfect, indicating a smooth and controlled landing.
The total landing distance was 3,384 feet, which accounted for 40% of the runway's length. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, indicating that the aircraft came to a stop without any issues. After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, a journey that took 67 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile.
The flight was a relatively short one, covering a total distance of 3 nautical miles and taking approximately 3 minutes to complete. The aircraft used a total of 384 pounds of fuel during the flight. The local weather conditions during the flight were characterized by a temperature of 18°F and a wind speed of 7 knots at 290 degrees, with a crosswind of 6 knots and a headwind of 5 knots.
The PC-12 aircraft successfully landed on runway 23 at UWWW Kurumoch International Airport, achieving an overall score of 84.4%. The landing was conducted under local weather conditions with a temperature of 16 °F and wind speeds of 6 kn at 273°. The crosswind component was minimal at 3 kn, while the headwind component was 5 kn, providing a relatively stable environment for the landing.
The aircraft touched down 787 ft beyond the touchdown zone, which is a notable deviation from the ideal landing spot. However, the touchdown speed of 73 kn was within the acceptable range, indicating that the pilot maintained control and managed the descent effectively. The touchdown rate of -41 fpm was also perfect, signifying a smooth and controlled touchdown.
One area for improvement was the threshold speed, which was recorded at 104 kn, exceeding the target speed. Additionally, the threshold height at 61 ft agl was above the target, suggesting that the pilot may have initiated the descent slightly later than desired. Despite these minor issues, the pilot demonstrated excellent control and alignment during the landing, with the runway touchdown alignment and rollout alignment both being perfect.
The total landing distance of 3,384 ft was 40% of the runway length, which is a reasonable distance considering the aircraft's size and the wind conditions. Overall, the landing was successful, and the pilot demonstrated good skills and control, although there is room for improvement in terms of threshold speed and descent initiation.
