MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Improve the touchdown
There are several things that can go wrong during the flare, carrying too much speed over the threshold, starting the flare at the wrong height and inconsistent flight control inputs, all contribute to a poor flare resulting in a hard touchdown or a float down the runway.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks at 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,574 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,574 ft of the 13,090 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 1,799 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Airbus A350-900 taxied from the parking area to runway 34L at RJAA Narita International Airport in 8 minutes, covering a distance of 2 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 34L, the aircraft used a takeoff distance of 5,537 ft (42 % of runway) and lifted off at 163 kt; ambient temperature was 74 °F with a wind of 4 kt from 090°, a 3 kt crosswind component and a 2 kt tailwind component.
Climb commenced overhead RJAA, ascending from 1,095 ft asl to 39,209 ft asl-a gain of 38,115 ft-over 17 minutes while covering 111 nm.
The first cruise segment began 1 mile south-west of Suwa (Nagano-ken, Japan) and persisted for 63 minutes, during which the aircraft flew 477 nm.
Descent started 4 miles south-east of RK33 G-418 Airport Yudong-ri, descending from 39,140 ft asl to 2,990 ft asl, a loss of 36,151 ft in 18 minutes and traversing 103 nm.
A brief cruise interval followed, initiating 11 miles west of RK25 N 225 Heliport - Tongjin Airfield, lasting 2 minutes and covering 5 nm.
The second descent began 10 miles north-west of RKSI Incheon International Airport, dropping from 2,984 ft asl to 1,273 ft asl-a decrease of 1,712 ft-in 2 minutes while traveling 6 nm.
Final approach to runway 16L at RKSI was executed from the north-west on a heading of 143.0° at 4 nm and 1,233 ft agl; the aircraft descended from 1,290 ft agl to 80 ft agl in 102 seconds and met the stabilisation gates criteria.
Landing on runway 16L, which is 13,090 ft long, occurred with a threshold speed of 135 kt; touchdown was 422 ft beyond the touchdown zone at 131 kt, a rate of minus 209 fpm, and a lateral offset of 21 ft from the centreline. Local weather reported a temperature of 70 °F, wind 3 kt from 050°, a 3 kt crosswind and no headwind. The total landing distance was 5,297 ft (40 % of runway).
Runway rollout alignment was reported as very good.
The aircraft taxied from the runway to the parking area in 1 minute, covering less than 1 nm.
Overall, the flight covered 714 nm, took 114 (units as provided), and consumed 23,640 lbs of fuel.
The final approach to runway 16L at RKSI Incheon International Airport was flown from the north-west on a heading of 143.0° at 4 nm and 1,233 ft agl. The aircraft descended from 1,290 ft agl to 80 ft agl in 102 seconds and was assessed as stabilised at the 1,000 ft gate, with gear, flaps, sink rate, glideslope, centreline and speed all within limits.
At threshold the height was good and the threshold speed was good at 135 kt, indicating an appropriate flare set-up for touchdown.
Touchdown occurred 422 ft beyond the touchdown zone with a speed of 131 kt, described as a little fast, and a touchdown rate of minus 209 fpm, rated fair. The touchdown point was slightly misaligned by 21 ft from the centreline. Ambient conditions were temperature 70 °F, wind 3 kt from 050°, crosswind 3 kt and headwind 0 kt.
The rollout covered a total landing distance of 5,297 ft, representing 40 % of the 13,090 ft runway, and runway rollout alignment was very good.
To refine the performance, aim to achieve touchdown within the designated zone and reduce the touchdown speed toward the 135 kt target, which will also help lower the vertical rate. Correcting the slight lateral offset will bring the touchdown point closer to the centreline and further improve the overall score.
