Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,230 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 1,230 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 51 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight in the XCub began with a departure roll on runway 25L at EDDF Frankfurt Airport. The takeoff distance was 173 meters, which accounted for 4% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 85 knots. The local weather at the time of departure was 4°C with a wind of 7 knots coming from 159°. There was a crosswind of 7 knots and no headwind.
The enroute climb started 1 mile south of Kelsterbach in Hessen, Germany. The aircraft climbed from 1,221 feet above sea level to 1,706 feet above sea level, an increase of 485 feet in 1 minute, covering 2 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began overhead Kelsterbach and lasted for 11 minutes, covering 22 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 18 at EDFB Reichelsheim Airfield was from the north, heading 173.0° at 1 nautical mile and 813 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 18 at EDFB Reichelsheim Airfield utilized the full length of the 1,230-meter runway. The threshold height and speed were good at 55 knots. The touchdown distance was 49 meters, and the touchdown speed of 52 knots was slightly fast. The touchdown rate was smooth at -115 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.5 meters from the centerline. The local weather at the time of landing was 4°C with a wind of 7 knots coming from 159°. There was a crosswind of 2 knots and a headwind of 7 knots.
The total landing distance was 380 meters, accounting for 31% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good.
Overall, the total flight distance was 26 nautical miles, taking 14 minutes, and using 6 kilograms of fuel.
Overall, your aircraft landing score of 96.5% is fantastic! Let's break down the different phases of the landing and see where you excelled and where there is room for improvement.
During the Approach Phase, you had a poor descent path above the glideslope limit. This indicates that your vertical speed may have been a bit too high as you descended towards the runway. However, your threshold speed of 55 knots was right on target, which is excellent.
Moving on to the Landing Phase, you had a good threshold height, meaning you were at the correct altitude as you approached the runway. Additionally, your landing flare was perfect, indicating that you executed the transition from descent to touchdown smoothly.
In the Touchdown Phase, your touchdown rate was commendable at -115 feet per minute, showing that you made a smooth contact with the runway. While your touchdown speed of 52 knots was slightly fast, it is still within a safe range. Your touchdown distance of 49 meters is also good, giving you ample space to bring the aircraft to a stop.
One area where there is room for improvement is in the alignment of the runway touchdown position. Being slightly misaligned by 4.5 meters from the centerline can be corrected with more practice and attention to precision during the landing.
Overall, your performance during the different phases of the landing was impressive, with only minor areas that need refinement. Keep up the good work and continue to focus on fine-tuning your skills to achieve an even higher landing score in the future. Good job!
