Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,802 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 859 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 4 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The Airbus A320 then departed from runway 36 at SBRP Leite Lopes Airport, with a takeoff distance of 985 meters, which accounted for 55% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 138 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions of 36°C temperature and a wind speed of 3 knots at 115 degrees. The crosswind and tailwind were both 2 knots. After departing from the airport, the enroute climb started 1 mile north of SBRP Leite Lopes Airport, with the aircraft climbing from 2,811 feet above sea level to 5,119 feet above sea level, an increase of 2,309 feet in just 1 minute, covering a distance of 3 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began 2 miles northwest of SDJN Fazenda São Luiz Airport Jardinópolis, and lasted for 8 minutes, covering a distance of 14 nautical miles. The enroute descent started 1 mile south of Serrana, with the aircraft descending from 5,125 feet above sea level to 3,142 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,983 feet in 5 minutes, covering a distance of 8 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 36 at SBRP Leite Lopes Airport was made from the south, with the aircraft heading 343.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,327 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 36 was successful, with the touchdown point being 440 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was a little fast at 117 knots, but the touchdown rate was smooth at -119 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was very good.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 34°C temperature and a wind speed of 3 knots at 111 degrees, with a crosswind and tailwind of 2 knots each. The total landing distance was 1,391 meters, which accounted for 77% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was perfect. After landing, the aircraft taxiing to the parking area took 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 32 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 23 minutes. The aircraft used 643 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed at SBRP Leite Lopes Airport, achieving a score of 94.0%. The aircraft was approaching the runway from the south, heading 343.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,327 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was executed with precision, and the aircraft landed smoothly on runway 36, which has a length of 1,802 meters.
The threshold height was well within the acceptable range, and the threshold speed was above the target speed of 130 kt, indicating a controlled approach. However, the touchdown point was 440 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which may indicate a slight deviation from the intended landing spot. The touchdown speed of 117 kt was slightly faster than the target speed, but the touchdown rate of -119 feet per minute (fpm) was smooth, indicating a controlled descent.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 34°C and a wind speed of 3 kt at 111°. The crosswind and tailwind components were minimal, at 2 kt each, which did not significantly impact the landing. The total landing distance of 1,391 meters was 77% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing roll.
The runway rollout alignment was perfect, with the aircraft maintaining a straight path after touchdown. Overall, the landing was executed with precision and control, and the aircraft came to a stop in a safe and controlled manner.
