Improve the rollout
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,142 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 339 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 15 minutes and covered a distance of 4 nautical miles. The aircraft, an Airbus A350-900, then departed from runway 02C at Singapore Changi Airport, with a takeoff distance of 2,058 meters, which was 51% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 173 knots, and the local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of 29°C, a wind speed of 9 knots at 314°, with a crosswind of 9 knots and a headwind of 4 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to its initial cruising altitude, it began its enroute climb from 1,051 feet above sea level to 33,275 feet, an increase of 32,224 feet in 14 minutes, covering a distance of 213 nautical miles. The climb started overhead Singapore Changi Airport and took the aircraft over the South China Sea, passing by the island of Tarempa in Indonesia. The enroute level cruise then began 40 miles east of Tarempa, lasting 22 minutes and covering 755 nautical miles.
The aircraft continued its journey, with a second enroute climb from 33,283 feet to 36,406 feet, an increase of 3,123 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 58 nautical miles. This climb took the aircraft over the South China Sea and into the Philippine Sea. The enroute level cruise then began at a latitude of 14.6072107° and a longitude of 115.1424692°, lasting 38 minutes and covering 1,476 nautical miles.
The aircraft continued its journey, with a third enroute climb from 35,023 feet to 36,212 feet, an increase of 1,188 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 70 nautical miles. This climb took the aircraft over the Pacific Ocean and into the Sea of Japan. The enroute level cruise then began 80 miles south of Shingu, Japan, lasting 111 minutes and covering 3,909 nautical miles.
The aircraft continued its journey, with a fourth enroute climb from 35,769 feet to 37,772 feet, an increase of 2,003 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 58 nautical miles. This climb took the aircraft over the Pacific Ocean and into the Gulf of Alaska. The enroute level cruise then began 14 miles northwest of Kitkatla, Canada, lasting 63 minutes and covering 2,210 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its enroute descent from 36,182 feet to 6,432 feet, a decrease of 29,750 feet in 11 minutes, covering a distance of 114 nautical miles. The descent took the aircraft over the eastern coast of the United States, passing by the city of Groton, Connecticut. The enroute level cruise then began 1 mile north of Rolling Hills Airport, lasting 3 minutes and covering 14 nautical miles.
The aircraft continued its descent, with a second descent from 6,447 feet to 2,731 feet, a decrease of 3,716 feet in 5 minutes, covering a distance of 23 nautical miles. This descent took the aircraft over the state of New Jersey, passing by the city of Franklin. The enroute level cruise then began overhead Garfield, New Jersey, lasting 2 minutes and covering 4 nautical miles.
The aircraft continued its descent, with a third descent from 2,408 feet to 1,294 feet, a decrease of 1,114 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 3 nautical miles. This descent took the aircraft over the state of New Jersey, passing by the city of Rutherford
The Airbus A350-900 successfully landed on runway 22L at KEWR Newark Liberty International Airport, achieving a score of 96.1%. The aircraft approached the runway from the north east, heading 206.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,264 feet above ground level (agl). The landing was executed with good threshold height, indicating that the aircraft was properly configured for landing.
However, the threshold speed was slightly above the target speed of 132 kt, which may have been due to the aircraft's descent rate or the pilot's decision to maintain a higher speed for a smoother touchdown. The touchdown distance of 336 meters was within acceptable limits, but the touchdown speed of 129 kt was a little fast, which may have resulted in a firmer touchdown rate.
The touchdown rate of -322 feet per minute (fpm) was firm, indicating that the aircraft touched down with a significant amount of energy. This may have been due to the aircraft's speed or the pilot's decision to maintain a higher speed for a smoother touchdown. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.1 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to the aircraft's heading or the pilot's decision to align with the runway.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of -1°C and winds of 19 kt at 250°. The crosswind component was 13 kt, while the headwind component was 14 kt. The total landing distance of 1,235 meters was 58% of the runway length, which is within acceptable limits.
During the rollout, the aircraft's alignment was slightly misaligned by 9.6 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to the aircraft's heading or the pilot's decision to align with the runway. Overall, the landing was successful, but there were some minor deviations from the target parameters.
