Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks at 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
Side view — the last 5,504 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,504 ft of the 9,858 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 1,991 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a quick taxiing process from the parking area to the runway, taking less than a minute and covering a distance of less than a nautical mile. The aircraft, an Antonov Airlines plane, then departed from runway 23 at UWWW Kurumoch International Airport. The takeoff distance was 4,650 feet, which accounted for 56% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 148 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time of takeoff were a temperature of 8 degrees Fahrenheit, with a wind speed of 8 knots at 209 degrees.
As the aircraft climbed, it started its enroute climb 1 mile southwest of UWWW Kurumoch International Airport, Samara. The climb began at an altitude of 1,017 feet above sea level and increased to 885 feet, a rise of 132 feet, over a period of 2 minutes and covering a distance of 3 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 33 at UWWW Kurumoch International Airport was made from the south, with the aircraft heading at 339.0 degrees at an altitude of 443 feet above ground level and a distance of 1 nautical mile from the runway. The landing on runway 33 was successful, with the runway length being 9,858 feet. The threshold height was above the target, but the threshold speed was good at 141 knots.
The touchdown point was 633 feet beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 134 knots, which was considered good. The touchdown rate was also perfect at 5 feet per minute. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 12 feet from the centreline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 5 degrees Fahrenheit, with a wind speed of 7 knots at 210 degrees.
The total landing distance was 5,246 feet, which accounted for 53% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned by 45 feet from the centreline. The total flight distance was 6 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 4 minutes. The aircraft used 4,666 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Antonov Airlines aircraft successfully landed at UWWW Kurumoch International Airport, achieving a score of 90.7%. The final approach to runway 33 was initiated from the south, with a heading of 339.0° at 1 nautical mile and 443 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft successfully touched down on the runway, which has a length of 9,858 feet.
The threshold height at 63 feet agl was above the target, indicating that the aircraft was slightly higher than desired at the point of touchdown. However, the threshold speed of 141 knots was within the acceptable range, demonstrating good control and management of the aircraft's descent. The touchdown point was 633 feet beyond the touchdown zone, which is a relatively minor deviation.
The touchdown speed of 134 knots was also within the acceptable range, indicating that the aircraft was able to maintain a stable and controlled descent. The touchdown rate of 5 feet per minute (fpm) was perfect, demonstrating excellent control and precision in the final stages of the landing.
However, there were some minor deviations from the ideal landing performance. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 12 feet from the centreline, which may have been due to a slight drift or deviation during the final approach. Additionally, the runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned by 45 feet from the centreline, which may have been due to a slight loss of control or drift during the rollout phase.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were relatively calm, with a temperature of 5°F and winds of 7 knots at 210°. The crosswind component was 5 knots, while the tailwind component was 4 knots. The total landing distance of 5,246 feet was 53% of the runway length, which is a relatively normal and acceptable distance for a landing of this type. Overall, the Antonov Airlines aircraft demonstrated good control and precision during the landing, but with some minor deviations from the ideal performance.
