Improve the pattern base leg turn
Bank angle in the pattern is conventionally kept to 20 to 30 degrees, and the base-to-final turn is where that convention earns its keep. Stall speed rises with bank because the wing must produce more lift in a turn. Roughly 7 per cent higher at 30 degrees, about 19 per cent at 45, and around 40 per cent at 60. At 65 kt on base you don't have much margin to spend steepening a turn to salvage an overshoot.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate for a circuit: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate is an instrument-approach check and does not apply.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,998 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 407 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 31L at Tbilisi International Airport (UGTB). The SR22 aircraft accelerated down the runway, reaching a liftoff speed of 83 kt. The takeoff distance was 305 meters, which is 10% of the runway length. The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 22 °C and a wind speed of 11 kt from a direction of 289 °.
As the aircraft entered the traffic pattern, it made a left-hand pattern entry from runway 31L. The distance covered during this maneuver was less than 1 nautical mile in 15 seconds. The left-hand pattern crosswind was also executed, with the aircraft covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile in 18 seconds.
The pilot then initiated a pattern downwind turn, which involved a turn of 45 degrees to align the aircraft with the runway. The distance covered during this turn was 1 nautical mile. The downwind leg itself was 3 nautical miles long and took 63 seconds to complete.
Following the downwind leg, the pilot executed a base leg turn, which involved another turn of 45 degrees to align the aircraft with the runway. The distance covered during this turn was 1 nautical mile. The base leg itself was less than 1 nautical mile long and took 23 seconds to complete.
The final approach to runway 31L was made from the south-east, with the aircraft heading 281.0 ° at 1 nautical mile and 311 feet above ground level. The landing was executed with good threshold height, threshold speed, and touchdown distance. The touchdown speed was 70 kt, and the touchdown rate was perfect at 14 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was also perfect.
The total landing distance was 676 meters, which is 23% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect. The total flight distance was 7 nautical miles, and the flight took 4 minutes to complete. The aircraft used 4 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The SR22 aircraft successfully landed at UGTB Tbilisi International Airport, achieving a high score of 95.2%. The final approach to runway 31L was conducted from the south east, with a heading of 281.0° at 1 nautical mile and 311 feet above ground level (agl). This indicates a precise and controlled approach, with the aircraft maintaining a steady altitude and heading.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway with a good threshold height, indicating that the pilot maintained a safe distance from the runway threshold. The threshold speed of 81 knots was also within the acceptable range, demonstrating the pilot's ability to manage the aircraft's speed during the landing phase. The touchdown distance of 406 meters was also good, indicating that the pilot was able to bring the aircraft to a stop within a reasonable distance.
The touchdown speed of 70 knots was within the acceptable range, and the touchdown rate of 14 feet per minute (fpm) was perfect, indicating a smooth and controlled touchdown. The runway touchdown alignment was also perfect, demonstrating the pilot's ability to align the aircraft with the runway centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 22°C and a wind speed of 11 knots from 300°. The crosswind component was minimal at 3 knots, while the headwind component was 10 knots, which helped to reduce the landing distance. The total landing distance of 676 meters was 23% of the runway length, indicating a safe and controlled landing.
Finally, the runway rollout alignment was perfect, demonstrating the pilot's ability to maintain control of the aircraft during the rollout phase and bring it to a safe stop. Overall, the landing was a success, with the pilot demonstrating excellent skills and control throughout the approach and landing phases.
