MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,885 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 180 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 8 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Boeing 777-300, then departed from runway 02L at Singapore Changi Airport (WSSS). The takeoff distance was 2,046 meters, which was 63% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 192 knots, and the local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of 30°C, a wind speed of 10 knots at 350°, with a crosswind of 5 knots and a headwind of 8 knots.
As the aircraft climbed out of Singapore Changi Airport, it began its enroute climb, reaching an altitude of 27,868 feet above sea level (asl) from an initial altitude of 1,020 feet asl. This climb phase covered a distance of 73 nautical miles and took 12 minutes to complete. The aircraft then entered a level cruise phase, which lasted for 23 minutes and covered a distance of 183 nautical miles. This phase was followed by another climb phase, which started 8 miles south of Depati Amir Airport (WIKK) and took the aircraft to an altitude of 36,339 feet asl from an initial altitude of 29,572 feet asl.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which lasted for 46 minutes and covered a distance of 372 nautical miles. This phase was followed by a climb phase, which started 70 miles south of Cilacap Wulung Airport (WAKA) and took the aircraft to an altitude of 38,457 feet asl from an initial altitude of 36,347 feet asl. The aircraft then entered a long level cruise phase, which lasted for 232 minutes and covered a distance of 1,938 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its descent phase, which started 22 miles northeast of Prominent Hill Airport (YPMH) and took the aircraft to an altitude of 39,855 feet asl from an initial altitude of 38,283 feet asl. The aircraft then entered a level cruise phase, which lasted for 83 minutes and covered a distance of 709 nautical miles. This phase was followed by a descent phase, which started 11 miles west of Binda and took the aircraft to an altitude of 1,293 feet asl from an initial altitude of 39,435 feet asl.
The final approach to runway 16R at Sydney Kingsford Smith International Airport (YSSY) was made from the north, with a heading of 168.0° at an altitude of 1,245 feet above ground level (agl). The landing was made on the runway, with a touchdown distance of 181 meters and a touchdown speed of 146 knots. The touchdown rate was heavy at -694 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.8 meters from the centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 25°C, a wind speed of 13 knots at 170°, with a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 13 knots. The total landing distance was 1,394 meters, which was 36% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good, and the taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 5 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 3,480 nautical miles, and the flight took a total of 446 minutes to complete. The aircraft used a total of 56,526 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 777-300 aircraft successfully landed at Sydney Kingsford Smith International Airport (YSSY) on runway 16R. The final approach was conducted from the north, heading 168.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,245 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft achieved a high score of 94.2% for this landing.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down at a speed of 146 knots, which was slightly above the target threshold speed. The touchdown distance of 181 meters was considered good, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. However, the touchdown speed was deemed fast, suggesting that the aircraft may have been slightly over-controlled during the final stages of the approach.
The touchdown rate was heavy at -694 feet per minute (fpm), which may indicate that the aircraft was experiencing a high rate of descent at the moment of touchdown. This could be a result of the aircraft being slightly over-controlled or the pilots not fully utilizing the aircraft's descent capabilities.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.8 meters from the centerline, which may indicate a slight deviation from the intended landing path. However, the runway rollout alignment was very good, suggesting that the pilots were able to maintain control of the aircraft during the rollout phase.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 25°C and a headwind of 13 knots at 170°. The crosswind component was minimal at 1 knot, which made the landing conditions relatively easy.
Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft touching down on the runway and coming to a stop within a reasonable distance. However, there were some minor issues with the touchdown speed and rate, as well as a slight deviation from the intended landing path.
