MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,968 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,968 m of the 2,790 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 763 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 12 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft then departed from runway 03 at EDSB Karlsruhe Baden-Baden Airport, with a takeoff distance of 738 meters, which was 30% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 132 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 16°C, with a wind speed of 4 knots at a direction of 60°. This resulted in a crosswind of 2 knots and a headwind of 3 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting overhead EDSB Karlsruhe Baden-Baden Airport, and climbed from an altitude of 1,424 feet above sea level to 22,941 feet above sea level, an increase of 21,517 feet, in 9 minutes and covering a distance of 35 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 1 mile north west of Leonberg, Germany, and lasted for 25 minutes, covering a distance of 183 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 2 miles south east of Eimen, Germany, and descended from an altitude of 22,876 feet above sea level to 4,026 feet above sea level, a decrease of 18,850 feet, in 10 minutes and covering a distance of 62 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started again, this time 2 miles south west of Fassberg, Germany, and lasted for 17 minutes, covering a distance of 61 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent, starting 1 mile north east of Steinfeld, Germany, and descended from an altitude of 3,556 feet above sea level to 1,340 feet above sea level, a decrease of 2,217 feet, in 5 minutes and covering a distance of 17 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 23 at EDDH Hamburg Helmut Schmidt Airport was made from the north east, with a heading of 230.0°, at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,284 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 23, which had a length of 2,790 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also good at 120 knots.
The touchdown point was 342 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 113 knots, which was a little fast. However, the touchdown rate was good at -180 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.0 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 17°C, with a wind speed of 5 knots at a direction of 190°. This resulted in a crosswind of 3 knots and a headwind of 4 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,882 meters, which was 67% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 2 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 366 nautical miles, taking a total of 79 minutes, and the aircraft used 1,364 kilograms of fuel.
Aircraft C750 successfully landed at EDDH Hamburg Helmut Schmidt Airport, achieving a score of 93.0%. The final approach was conducted from the north east, heading 230.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,284 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft touched down on runway 23, which has a length of 2,790 meters.
The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 120 knots. However, the touchdown point was 342 meters beyond the touchdown zone, indicating that the aircraft landed slightly further down the runway than intended. The touchdown speed of 113 knots was a little fast, but the touchdown rate of -180 feet per minute (fpm) was good.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.0 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the approach or during the landing roll. The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 17°C, a wind speed of 5 knots at 190°, and a crosswind of 3 knots and a headwind of 4 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,882 meters, which is 67% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating that the aircraft was able to touch down and stop within a reasonable distance. The runway rollout alignment was very good, suggesting that the pilot was able to maintain control of the aircraft during the landing roll and bring it to a stop in a straight line.
Overall, the landing was successful, but there were a few minor issues that could be addressed to improve the score. These include reducing the touchdown speed and improving the alignment of the runway touchdown position.
