MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,541 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 579 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Airbus A320 taxied from the parking area to runway 29 at MMGL Guadalajara International Airport in 16 minutes, covering a distance of 3 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 29, the aircraft used 2,628 m of runway, representing 66 % of the available length, and lifted off at 161 kt; ambient temperature was 28 °C with a wind of 15 kt from 180°, a cross-wind component of 14 kt and a tail-wind component of 6 kt.
Climb commenced 1 mile west of MMGL, with the airplane ascending from 6,054 ft asl to 34,171 ft asl, an increase of 28,117 ft, achieved in 18 minutes while covering 123 nm.
The first cruise segment began 14 miles north of Lagos de Moreno and continued for 147 minutes, during which 1,140 nm were flown.
Descent started 37 miles west of Indian Rocks Beach, with altitude decreasing from 34,487 ft asl to 8,898 ft asl, a loss of 25,589 ft, over 12 minutes and a distance of 80 nm.
A second cruise phase was initiated 7 miles west of Indian Rocks Beach, lasting 7 minutes and covering 34 nm.
The subsequent descent began 1 mile north of Samoset, dropping from 8,899 ft asl to 1,305 ft asl, a reduction of 7,594 ft, in 8 minutes and spanning 29 nm.
Final approach to runway 32 at KSRQ Sarasota Bradenton International Airport was conducted from the southeast, on a heading of 312.0°, at 4 nm and 1,271 ft agl.
Landing on runway 32, whose length is 2,541 m, occurred with a threshold height of 59 ft agl and a threshold speed of 131 kt; the touchdown point was 158 m beyond the touchdown zone, touchdown speed was 124 kt, and touchdown rate was minus 181 fpm. The aircraft aligned perfectly on touchdown and the total landing distance recorded was 1,230 m, representing 48 % of the runway.
Runway rollout alignment remained perfect throughout the deceleration phase.
The aircraft taxied from the runway to the parking area in 3 minutes, covering less than 1 nm.
In total, the flight covered 1,416 nm, took 206 minutes, and consumed 8,886 kg of fuel.
The Airbus A320 executed a final approach to runway 32 at KSRQ Sarasota Bradenton International Airport from the south-east, tracking a heading of 312.0° at 4 nm and 1,271 ft agl. The approach was assessed as stabilised at the 1,000 ft gate, with gear, flaps, sink rate, glideslope and centreline all within limits, and the aircraft maintained a temperature of 28 °C.
At threshold the height was 59 ft agl, slightly above target, and the threshold speed was slightly above target at 131 kt. The runway length is 2,541 m.
Touchdown occurred 158 m beyond the touchdown zone with a speed of 124 kt, a little fast, and a touchdown rate of minus 181 fpm, which was good. Runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The total landing distance was 1,230 m, representing 48 % of the runway, and rollout alignment was perfect.
Minor refinements include reducing the threshold speed to the target value and aiming the touchdown point closer to the designated zone while preserving the current alignment and rate.
