Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,207 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,207 ft of the 10,009 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 1,569 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport took approximately 3 minutes, covering less than 1 nautical mile. The Boeing 737-800 then began its departure roll on runway 25R, utilizing 7,124 feet of the available runway, which equated to 69% of the total length. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 164 knots, overcoming a headwind of 3 knots and a crosswind of 5 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to cruising altitude, it traversed a significant portion of the United States, passing over Central City, Arizona, and eventually reaching an altitude of 34,989 feet above sea level. The enroute climb phase was completed in 23 minutes, covering 161 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered a level cruise phase, lasting 87 minutes and covering 696 nautical miles. This was followed by a second climb phase, which saw the aircraft ascend to 36,991 feet above sea level in just 5 minutes, covering 42 nautical miles. The final cruise phase lasted 67 minutes, covering 549 nautical miles. As the aircraft began its descent, it passed over Newport, Tennessee, and eventually touched down on runway 18C at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, utilizing 49% of the available runway length.
The landing was executed with a threshold speed slightly above the target, at 149 knots. The touchdown point was 210 feet beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was a little fast at 143 knots. However, the touchdown rate was good at -192 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect. The total landing distance was 4,948 feet, and the runway rollout alignment was also perfect. After taxiing to the parking area, the aircraft had completed a total flight distance of 1,579 nautical miles, using 21,412 pounds of fuel and taking a total of 214 minutes.
The Boeing 737-800 touched down on runway 18C at KCLT Charlotte Douglas International Airport with a score of 99.8%. The aircraft approached the runway from the north, heading 176.0° at 4 nm and 1,272 ft above ground level. The final approach was characterized by good quality, with a smooth descent and a stable airspeed. The threshold height was satisfactory, but the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 149 kt, indicating a slight delay in the touchdown.
The aircraft made contact with the runway at a speed of 143 kt, which was a little fast, but the touchdown rate of -192 fpm was good. The touchdown point was 210 ft beyond the touchdown zone, indicating a slight overrun. However, the runway touchdown alignment was perfect, with the aircraft centered on the runway. The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 73 °F and a headwind of 4 kt at 180°.
The total landing distance was 4,948 ft, which was 49% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, with the aircraft maintaining its centerline alignment throughout the rollout phase. The overall performance was satisfactory, with the aircraft demonstrating good control and stability throughout the landing. The slight overrun and fast touchdown speed were minor issues, but the perfect runway touchdown and rollout alignment made up for these minor discrepancies.
