Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,195 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 442 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A319 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Zürich Airport, taking approximately 8 minutes and covering a distance of 2 nautical miles. Departure roll occurred on runway 34, with a takeoff distance of 1,636 meters, which is 51% of the runway length. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 151 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of 8°C temperature and a wind speed of 6 knots at 227 degrees. The crosswind was 6 knots, while the tailwind was 2 knots. The enroute climb began overhead Oberglatt, Switzerland, where the aircraft ascended from 2,429 feet above sea level to 14,439 feet, an increase of 12,011 feet in 6 minutes, covering a distance of 20 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started over Schlossrued, Switzerland, and lasted for 3 minutes, covering another 20 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another climb, this time from 14,441 feet to 35,229 feet, an increase of 20,788 feet in 11 minutes, covering a distance of 72 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise resumed over Nernier, France, and lasted for 45 minutes, covering a significant distance of 316 nautical miles.
As the aircraft continued its journey, it began its descent from 36,224 feet to 16,388 feet, a decrease of 19,836 feet in 16 minutes, covering a distance of 85 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise started again over Alcudia, Spain, and lasted for 55 minutes, covering less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then began its descent once more, this time from 16,388 feet to 13,954 feet, a decrease of 2,433 feet in 3 minutes, covering a distance of 13 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise resumed over Capdepera, Spain, and lasted for 3 minutes, covering less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then began its descent, this time from 13,947 feet to 3,251 feet, a decrease of 10,696 feet in 9 minutes, covering a distance of 35 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise started again over Llucmajor, Spain, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering 7 nautical miles.
The final descent began over Magaluf, Spain, where the aircraft descended from 3,047 feet to 2,088 feet, a decrease of 959 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 5 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise resumed over Son Ferrer, Spain, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering 6 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 06L at Palma de Mallorca Airport, flying from the south-west at a heading of 58.0 degrees and 4 nautical miles from the runway. The landing occurred on the runway, which had a length of 3,195 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also good at 126 knots.
The touchdown distance was good at 443 meters, but the touchdown speed was a little fast at 120 knots. The touchdown rate was fair at -276 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 11°C temperature and a wind speed of 5 knots at 350 degrees, with a crosswind of 5 knots and a headwind of 2 knots.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, taking approximately 8 minutes and covering less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 585 nautical
The Airbus A319 successfully landed at LEPA Palma de Mallorca Airport, achieving a score of 97.2%. The aircraft approached the runway from the southwest, heading 58.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,296 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was executed with good control, and the aircraft landed safely on runway 06L, which has a length of 3,195 meters.
The threshold height was satisfactory, and the threshold speed of 126 knots was also within the acceptable range. The touchdown distance of 443 meters was good, indicating that the aircraft was able to slow down effectively before touching down on the runway. However, the touchdown speed of 120 knots was slightly faster than desired, which may have contributed to a fair touchdown rate of -276 feet per minute (fpm).
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 11°C and a wind speed of 5 knots from a direction of 350°. The crosswind component was 5 knots, while the headwind component was 2 knots. These conditions did not appear to have a significant impact on the landing, as the aircraft was able to maintain a stable approach and touchdown.
The total landing distance of 1,330 meters was 42% of the runway length, which is a reasonable distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 8.3 meters from the centerline, which may indicate a slight deviation in the aircraft's direction during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was successful, and the aircraft was able to come to a stop within a reasonable distance from the runway threshold. While there were some minor deviations from the desired touchdown speed and rollout alignment, the pilot's overall performance was satisfactory, and the landing was executed with good control and precision.
