Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,796 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,796 m of the 3,138 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 567 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 16 minutes and covered a distance of 4 nautical miles. The aircraft, an Airbus A321, then departed from runway 22R at EFHK Helsinki Vantaa Airport. The takeoff distance was 177 meters, which accounted for 6% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 165 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 2 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 6 knots coming from a direction of 189 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 4 knots and a headwind of 5 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile west of EFHK Helsinki Vantaa Airport and reaching a height of 35,775 feet above sea level. This climb, which covered a distance of 135 nautical miles, took 14 minutes and resulted in an increase of 34,612 feet in altitude.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 11 miles northwest of Mustjala, Estonia. This phase lasted for 27 minutes and covered a distance of 695 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 3 miles southeast of Schnelldorf, Germany. The descent, which covered a distance of 121 nautical miles, took 14 minutes and resulted in a decrease of 33,612 feet in altitude, bringing the aircraft down to a height of 2,691 feet above sea level.
The final approach to runway 14 at LSZH Zürich Airport was made from the northwest, with the aircraft heading in a direction of 137.0 degrees at an altitude of 1,280 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway. The landing was made on runway 14, which had a length of 3,138 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was slightly above the target speed at 143 knots.
The touchdown point was 150 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 132 knots, which was considered good. The touchdown rate was firm at -327 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 11 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 1 knot coming from a direction of 0 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 1 knot and a tailwind of 1 knot.
The total landing distance was 1,714 meters, which accounted for 55% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 3 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 961 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 66 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 6,141 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A321 has successfully landed at Zürich Airport (LSZH) with a score of 97.2%. The aircraft was approaching the runway from the north-west, heading 137.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,280 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was made to runway 14, which has a length of 3,138 meters.
The landing was executed with good threshold height, indicating that the aircraft was at the correct altitude as it approached the runway threshold. However, the threshold speed was slightly above the target speed of 142 kt, coming in at 143 kt. This minor deviation from the target speed did not seem to have any significant impact on the overall landing performance.
The touchdown point was 150 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which is a relatively minor deviation from the ideal touchdown point. The touchdown speed of 132 kt was within the acceptable range, and the touchdown rate of -327 feet per minute (fpm) was firm, indicating a controlled descent. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, which is a testament to the pilot's skill and attention to detail.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 11°C and a wind speed of 1 kt from a direction of 0°. This resulted in a negligible crosswind and tailwind component, making the landing even more challenging and impressive.
The total landing distance was 1,714 meters, which is 55% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating that the aircraft was well-controlled and the pilot was able to execute a smooth and efficient landing. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, indicating that the aircraft was able to maintain its alignment with the runway after touchdown.
Overall, the landing was a success, with the aircraft touching down smoothly and coming to a stop in a controlled manner. The pilot's skill and attention to detail were evident throughout the landing, and the aircraft's performance was impressive given the favorable weather conditions.
