Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,990 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 544 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 07C at Frankfurt Airport (EDDF). The aircraft, an Airbus A319, accelerated down the runway and lifted off at a speed of 164 kt, covering a distance of 332 meters, which was 8% of the runway length. The local weather conditions at the time of takeoff were characterized by a temperature of 17 °C and a wind speed of 10 kt from a direction of 80°, resulting in a 2 kt crosswind and a 10 kt headwind.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb 1 mile north east of EDDF, rising from an altitude of 1,333 ft above sea level to 4,013 ft asl in just 3 minutes, covering a distance of 8 nm. This rapid ascent was followed by a brief enroute level cruise, which lasted 3 minutes and covered 9 nm, starting 1 mile north west of Gross-Gerau.
The aircraft then began its enroute descent 1 mile north east of Klein-Winternheim, descending from 4,002 ft asl to 1,606 ft asl in 3 minutes, covering a distance of 9 nm. The final approach to runway 07C at EDDF was made from the south west, with the aircraft flying at a heading of 69.0° at an altitude of 1,258 ft above ground level, 4 nm from the runway.
The landing was executed smoothly, with the aircraft touching down 120 meters beyond the touchdown zone at a speed of 122 kt, resulting in a touchdown rate of -190 fpm. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the runway rollout alignment was also spot on. The total landing distance was 1,098 meters, which was 28% of the runway length.
The flight was completed with a total distance of 31 nm, taking 12 minutes to complete, and the aircraft used 477 kg of fuel during the flight. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were the same as at the time of takeoff, with a temperature of 17 °C and a wind speed of 10 kt from a direction of 80°, resulting in a 2 kt crosswind and a 10 kt headwind.
The Airbus A319 successfully landed on runway 07C at Frankfurt Airport (EDDF) with an impressive score of 98.8%. The aircraft approached the runway from the southwest, heading 69.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,258 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot maintained a good threshold height, which is a critical aspect of a safe landing.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's threshold speed was recorded at 133 knots, which is within the acceptable range. The touchdown point was located 120 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, but this is not considered a significant deviation. The touchdown speed of 122 knots was also within the acceptable range, and the touchdown rate of -190 feet per minute (fpm) was good, indicating a smooth and controlled descent.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 17°C and a wind speed of 10 knots from a direction of 80°. This resulted in a crosswind of 2 knots and a headwind of 10 knots, which the pilot effectively managed during the landing. The total landing distance of 1,098 meters was 28% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing distance.
The runway rollout alignment was perfect, demonstrating the pilot's excellent control and coordination during the landing. Overall, the Airbus A319's landing on runway 07C at Frankfurt Airport was a textbook example of a safe and efficient landing, with the pilot executing all aspects of the landing procedure flawlessly.
