Improve the taxi
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,859 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 464 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 5 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, an Airbus A321, then departed from runway 23 at EDHI Hamburg-Finkenwerder Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,308 meters, which is 70% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 163 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time of takeoff were a temperature of 2°C, with a wind speed of 12 knots at 249°.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb, which started overhead EDHI Hamburg-Finkenwerder Airport. The climb took 3 minutes and covered 8 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from 1,055 feet above sea level to 5,556 feet above sea level, an increase of 4,500 feet. The enroute level cruise then began 2 miles west of Seevetal, lasting 4 minutes and covering 18 nautical miles.
The enroute descent started 1 mile east of Dassendorf, where the aircraft descended from 5,316 feet above sea level to 2,939 feet above sea level, a decrease of 2,377 feet in 2 minutes, covering 7 nautical miles. Another enroute level cruise then began 1 mile east of Braak, lasting 6 minutes and covering 13 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 23 at EDHI Hamburg-Finkenwerder Airport was made from the north-east, heading 232.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,272 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 23, which has a length of 1,859 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also good at 137 knots. The touchdown distance was 465 meters, and the touchdown speed was 134 knots, both of which were good. The touchdown rate was fair at -221 feet per minute, but the runway touchdown alignment was very good.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 0°C, with a wind speed of 10 knots at 260°. The crosswind was 5 knots, and the headwind was 8 knots. The total landing distance was 995 meters, which is 54% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was also very good.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking, which took 2 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 52 nautical miles, and the flight took 29 minutes. The aircraft used 1,031 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A321 successfully landed at Hamburg-Finkenwerder Airport, achieving a high score of 99.4%. The aircraft approached the runway from the north-east, heading 232.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,272 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot's final approach was well-executed, with a good threshold height and speed of 137 knots.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft performed well, with a touchdown distance of 465 meters, which is within the acceptable range. The touchdown speed of 134 knots was also satisfactory, indicating a smooth and controlled landing. However, the touchdown rate of -221 feet per minute (fpm) was only fair, suggesting that the aircraft may have touched down slightly harder than desired.
Despite this minor issue, the overall landing performance was impressive. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway centerline at touchdown. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 0°C and wind speeds of 10 knots at 260°, presented a moderate challenge for the pilot. However, the crosswind of 5 knots and headwind of 8 knots were well-managed, allowing the aircraft to land safely.
The total landing distance of 995 meters, which accounts for 54% of the runway length, was also satisfactory. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft maintained a stable and controlled roll-out after touchdown. Overall, the landing was a success, with the pilot demonstrating excellent skills and control throughout the approach and landing phases.
