Shorten the long landing
Ground effect becomes significant below about one wingspan of height. A Cessna 172, with a 36 ft span, enters ground effect at flare height - the float it feels in the hold-off is ground effect arriving on cue. An A320, with a span around 117 ft, has been in ground effect since before the threshold and there is no sudden cushion to feel, only a gradual reduction in induced drag that lengthens any float you allow.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out. These checks are the approach's score.

The rest of the report
The Boeing 777F taxied from the parking area to runway 16L at KSEA Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, a movement that lasted 7 minutes and covered less than 1 nm.
The aircraft commenced its departure roll on runway 16L, using 6,953 ft of runway (59 % of the available length) before liftoff at 169 kt; ambient conditions were 65 °F with a wind of 1 kt from 269°, a crosswind component of 1 kt and no headwind.
Climb began approximately 1 mile north east of Des Moines, Washington, with the airplane ascending from 1,214 ft asl to 35,012 ft asl, an increase of 33,797 ft achieved in 16 minutes while covering 109 nm.
Level cruise was established overhead North Bonneville, Washington, and was maintained for 77 minutes, during which the aircraft travelled 618 nm.
Descent was initiated 9 miles north of KLOS Lost Hills Airport, California, with a reduction from 34,996 ft asl to 1,406 ft asl, a loss of 33,590 ft over 27 minutes and a distance of 146 nm.
The final approach to runway 25L at KLAX Los Angeles International Airport involved a descent from 1,318 ft agl to 82 ft agl in 97 seconds, and the aircraft scored on the stabilisation gates.
Landing on runway 25L, which measures 11,080 ft, was executed with a good threshold height and a threshold speed of 149 kt. Touchdown occurred 964 ft beyond the touchdown zone at a speed of 139 kt, with a fair touchdown rate of minus 269 fpm and a slight lateral deviation of 18 ft from the centreline. The total landing distance was 5,082 ft (46 % of runway), and runway rollout alignment was very good.
After exiting the runway, the Boeing 777F taxied to the parking area in 8 minutes, covering 1 nm.
In total, the flight covered 883 nm, required 137 minutes of elapsed time, and consumed 37,210 lb of fuel.
The Boeing 777F approached runway 25L at KLAX in a stabilised configuration at the 1,000 ft gate, with gear, flaps, sink rate, glideslope, centreline and speed all within limits, and the descent from 1,318 ft AGL to 82 ft AGL was completed in 97 seconds, earning full marks on the stabilisation gates.
At threshold the aircraft maintained a good height and a threshold speed of 149 kt, both recorded as good.
Touchdown occurred 964 ft beyond the designated touchdown zone with a speed of 139 kt judged good; the vertical rate was fair at minus 269 fpm and the touchdown point was slightly off centreline by 18 ft. The total landing distance measured 5,082 ft, representing 46 % of the 11,080-ft runway.
Runway rollout alignment was recorded as very good, and the overall landing received a score of 95.6 %.
Refine the flare to achieve a slightly lower descent rate and adjust the final alignment to reduce the 18-ft centreline offset, which will further tighten an already high-scoring performance.
