Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,715 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 498 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 6 minutes and covered a distance of 4 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 26 at LUKK Chişinău International Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,114 meters, which accounted for 31% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 159 knots.
As the aircraft climbed out of the airport, it encountered local weather conditions of 14°C temperature and a wind speed of 9 knots at 339 degrees. The crosswind was 8 knots, while the headwind was 3 knots. The enroute climb started 1 mile west of the airport and continued for 15 minutes, covering a distance of 94 nautical miles. The aircraft climbed from 1,445 feet above sea level to 31,535 feet above sea level, an increase of 30,090 feet.
After reaching the cruising altitude, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started overhead Smardan, Romania. This phase lasted for 25 minutes and covered a distance of 189 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent, which started 43 miles northeast of Ahtopol, Bulgaria. The descent from 30,962 feet above sea level to 9,797 feet above sea level took 19 minutes and covered a distance of 78 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 5 miles southeast of Cerkezkoey, Turkey. This phase lasted for 3 minutes and covered a distance of 13 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent again, which started 2 miles northwest of Marmara Ereglisi, Turkey. The descent from 9,765 feet above sea level to 3,117 feet above sea level took 12 minutes and covered a distance of 33 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started overhead Esenyurt, Turkey. This phase lasted for 2 minutes and covered a distance of 4 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent, which started 4 miles north of Esenyurt. The descent from 2,935 feet above sea level to 1,610 feet above sea level took 3 minutes and covered a distance of 7 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 34L at LTFM İstanbul Airport was made from the south, heading 359.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,380 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 34L, which had a length of 3,715 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also good at 137 knots.
The touchdown point was 176 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 129 knots, which was good. However, the touchdown rate was very hard at -507 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was significantly misaligned by 24.4 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 11°C temperature and a wind speed of 25 knots at 60 degrees. The crosswind was 22 knots, while the headwind was 12 knots.
The total landing distance was 952 meters, which accounted for 26% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was misaligned by 19.7 meters from the centerline. After landing, the aircraft took 7 minutes to taxi to the parking from the runway, covering a distance of 2 nautical miles.
The total flight distance was 430 nautical miles, and the flight took 95 minutes. The aircraft used 4,066 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at LTFM İstanbul Airport, but with some notable issues. The final approach was conducted from the south, heading 359.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,380 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft touched down on runway 34L, which has a length of 3,715 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 137 knots.
However, the touchdown point was 176 meters beyond the touchdown zone, indicating that the aircraft landed slightly further down the runway than intended. The touchdown speed of 129 knots was within acceptable limits, but the touchdown rate was quite hard at -507 feet per minute (fpm). This could potentially be a concern for the aircraft's safety and the comfort of its passengers.
Another issue was the significant misalignment of the runway touchdown position, which was off-centerline by 24.4 meters. This could be due to various factors, including crosswind or pilot error. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were also noteworthy, with a temperature of 11°C and wind speeds of 25 knots at 60°. The crosswind component was 22 knots, while the headwind component was 12 knots.
The total landing distance was 952 meters, which is approximately 26% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, but it could be a concern if the aircraft had been carrying a heavy load or had been experiencing any issues with its brakes. The runway rollout alignment was also misaligned by 19.7 meters from centerline, which could be a concern for the safety of the aircraft and its passengers.
Overall, while the landing was successful, there were several issues that need to be addressed to improve the safety and efficiency of the aircraft's operations at LTFM İstanbul Airport.
