MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,395 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 389 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft, an Airbus A321, taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Geneva Cointrin International Airport, taking approximately 6 minutes to cover a distance of 1 nautical mile. The departure roll took place on runway 04, with the aircraft taking off after covering 48% of the runway's length. The takeoff distance was 1,728 meters, and the liftoff speed was 175 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of 17°C temperature and a wind speed of 25 knots at 39 degrees. The crosswind was minimal at 2 knots, while the headwind was a significant 25 knots. The enroute climb began overhead Bellevue, Geneva, Switzerland, where the aircraft started its ascent from an altitude of 2,371 feet above sea level to 29,587 feet above sea level, an increase of 27,216 feet in 14 minutes, covering a distance of 76 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started overhead Mailley-et-Chazelot, Bourgogne-Franche-Comte, France, and lasted for 22 minutes, covering a distance of 138 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent overhead Ingeldorf, Diekirch, Luxembourg, descending from 29,742 feet above sea level to 1,422 feet above sea level, a decrease of 28,319 feet in 18 minutes, covering a distance of 86 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 05R at Düsseldorf Airport was made from the southwest, heading 52.0 degrees at an altitude of 1,280 feet above ground level, and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway. The landing took place on the 2,395-meter-long runway, with a good threshold height. The threshold speed was slightly above the target at 145 knots, while the touchdown distance was good at 393 meters. The touchdown speed was a little fast at 134 knots, but the touchdown rate was firm at -392 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, and the runway rollout alignment was perfect.
The local weather conditions at Düsseldorf Airport were 8°C temperature and a wind speed of 12 knots at 60 degrees. The crosswind was minimal at 2 knots, while the headwind was 12 knots. The total landing distance was 1,202 meters, covering 50% of the runway. The taxiing to the parking area from the runway took approximately 3 minutes, covering less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 309 nautical miles, taking 65 minutes, and the aircraft used 3,206 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A321 successfully landed on runway 05R at EDDL Düsseldorf Airport, achieving a high score of 98.2%. The aircraft approached the runway from the southwest, heading 52.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,280 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot maintained a good threshold height, which is a critical aspect of a safe landing.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's threshold speed was slightly above the target speed of 145 knots, indicating a slight over-speed. However, the touchdown distance of 393 meters was considered good, suggesting that the pilot had sufficient control over the aircraft's descent. The touchdown speed of 134 knots was a little fast, but this did not significantly impact the overall landing performance.
The touchdown rate of -392 feet per minute (fpm) was firm, indicating a controlled descent. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, which is essential for a safe landing. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 8°C and a wind speed of 12 knots at 60°. The crosswind component was minimal at 2 knots, while the headwind component was 12 knots, which helped to reduce the landing distance.
The total landing distance of 1,202 meters was 50% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing distance. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, suggesting that the pilot had maintained control over the aircraft's roll-out and had aligned it with the runway centerline. Overall, the landing was considered safe and successful, with the pilot achieving a high score of 98.2%.
