Improve the rollout
Ground control varies with speed, full authority at walking pace, progressively reducing as groundspeed rises. The aircraft becomes twitchy at any speed, every small pedal input swings the nose, which can encourage large-amplitude leg inputs that no real aircraft would accept.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,890 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,890 m of the 2,914 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 826 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 12 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, Vueling's EC-MGZ, then departed from runway 13 at Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport (LEMG). The takeoff distance was 1,606 meters, which is 50% of the runway length. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 164 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 19°C, a wind speed of 5 knots at 60°, resulting in a crosswind of 4 knots and a headwind of 1 knot. The aircraft began its enroute climb 1 mile south east of LEMG, rising from an altitude of 1,054 feet above sea level to 18,302 feet above sea level, an increase of 17,248 feet, in 8 minutes and covering a distance of 45 nautical miles.
The first level cruise phase started 26 miles south of Almunecar, lasting 2 minutes and covering 13 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another climb phase 12 miles south of Almunecar, increasing its altitude from 18,288 feet to 36,156 feet, a rise of 17,868 feet, in 11 minutes and covering 75 nautical miles. The second level cruise phase started 1 mile south east of Larva, lasting 25 minutes and covering 195 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its descent 4 miles south east of Burriana, decreasing its altitude from 35,876 feet to 28,044 feet, a drop of 7,831 feet, in 7 minutes and covering 49 nautical miles. The third level cruise phase started 2 miles north east of Sant Rafel del Maestrat, lasting 2 minutes and covering 16 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent 2 miles west of L'Ampolla, dropping from 28,020 feet to 6,052 feet, a decrease of 21,968 feet, in 14 minutes and covering 83 nautical miles.
The fourth level cruise phase started overhead Tiana, lasting 9 minutes and covering 10 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent 5 miles south east of Vilassar de Mar, decreasing its altitude from 5,892 feet to 1,304 feet, a drop of 4,588 feet, in 5 minutes and covering 14 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 24R at Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport (LEBL), approaching from the north east at a heading of 246.0° and at an altitude of 1,285 feet above ground level. The landing was made on the runway, which is 2,914 meters long. The threshold height was slightly above the target, and the threshold speed was excessively high at 144 knots.
The touchdown point was 404 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was excessively fast at 125 knots. However, the touchdown rate was good at -176 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was significantly misaligned by 15.5 meters from the centreline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 13°C, a wind speed of 11 knots at 230°, resulting in a crosswind of 3 knots and a headwind of 10 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,804 meters, which is 62% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was misaligned by 26.1 meters from the centreline. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 6 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile.
The aircraft, Vueling EC-MGZ, successfully landed on runway 24R at LEBL Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport, but the landing was not without its issues. The final approach was initiated from the north east, heading 246.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,285 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft touched down on the runway, but the touchdown point was 404 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, indicating a slight deviation from the intended landing spot.
The touchdown speed of 125 knots was excessively fast, and the threshold speed of 144 knots was also higher than the target speed. However, the touchdown rate of -176 feet per minute (fpm) was considered good, indicating a controlled descent. The runway touchdown position was significantly misaligned by 15.5 meters from the centerline, which could have contributed to the deviation from the intended landing spot.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were relatively calm, with a temperature of 13°C and a wind speed of 11 knots at 230°. The crosswind component was minimal at 3 knots, while the headwind component was 10 knots. These conditions were not particularly challenging, and the pilots should have been able to maintain a stable approach and landing.
The total landing distance of 1,804 meters was 62% of the runway length, which is within the acceptable range. However, the runway rollout alignment was misaligned by 26.1 meters from the centerline, indicating a slight deviation from the intended path after touchdown. Overall, while the landing was not perfect, the pilots were able to bring the aircraft to a safe stop, and the deviations from the intended landing spot were not severe enough to pose a significant risk to safety.
