Improve the rollout
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: seven checks where the approach path is 300 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
At the 300 ft gate: off the centreline.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,732 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 250 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Lugano Airport (LSZA), the aircraft began its taxiing process, taking 15 minutes to cover 2 nautical miles to the runway. Upon reaching runway 01, the departure roll commenced, and the aircraft lifted off after a takeoff distance of 754 meters, utilizing 74% of the available runway. The liftoff speed was achieved at 85 knots, with a local temperature of 16°C and wind conditions favoring a tailwind of 8 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to its enroute altitude, it passed overhead Bioggio, Switzerland, and continued to ascend to 22,009 feet above sea level, an increase of 20,074 feet in 12 minutes, covering 35 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise phase began approximately 1 mile north-west of Castelveccana, Italy, lasting 14 minutes and covering 58 nautical miles. Subsequent descent phases took place over St. Moritz and Ardez, Switzerland, with the final descent from 13,992 feet to 6,622 feet above sea level in 7 minutes, covering 22 nautical miles. The aircraft then commenced its final approach to runway 21 at Samedan Airport (LSZS), from the north-east, with a heading of 216.0° at 1 nautical mile and 1,029 feet above ground level.
The aircraft executed a go-around at 495 feet above ground level before successfully landing on runway 21, with a touchdown distance of 249 meters and a touchdown speed of 70 knots. The touchdown rate was -154 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect. Following the landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, taking 1 minute to cover less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 154 nautical miles, with a total flight time of 54 minutes and a fuel consumption of 185 kilograms.
The aircraft touched down on runway 21 at LSZS Samedan Airport with a good threshold height, allowing for a smooth transition from the approach to the touchdown phase. The threshold speed was well-managed at 78 kt, indicating a high degree of control and precision from the pilot. The touchdown distance of 249 m was also within acceptable limits, demonstrating a well-executed flare and touchdown.
The touchdown speed of 70 kt was consistent with the recommended values for the aircraft, and the touchdown rate of -154 fpm was well within the safe range. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, with the aircraft centered on the runway, showcasing the pilot's skill and attention to detail. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 4 °C and a moderate headwind of 9 kt, presented a challenging environment for the landing, but the pilot's performance was unaffected.
The total landing distance of 478 m, which accounted for 28% of the runway length, was within the acceptable range. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 11.6 m from the centreline, which resulted in a score of 94.6%. Despite this minor deviation, the overall performance of the pilot was impressive, demonstrating a high level of skill and proficiency in executing a safe and controlled landing.
