Keep the taxi smooth
Turn speed is limited by lateral load on the tyres and the people in the back, and lateral acceleration goes with the square of speed. On an illustrative 25 m turn radius, 10 kt produces about 0.11 g of side load, while 20 kt produces about 0.43 g. Doubling the speed quadruples the load. That square law is the entire content of the "10 knots in turns" rule, and it tells you why a slightly-too-fast turn feels fine and a moderately-too-fast one throws the cabin crew across the galley.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
At the 1,000 ft gate: sink rate above what the glideslope needed.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,910 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 307 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Boeing 737-800 taxied from the parking area to runway 05 at LTBA İstanbul Atatürk Airport in 6 minutes, covering a distance of 2 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 05, the aircraft accelerated over a takeoff distance of 1,080 m, representing 44 % of the runway length, and lifted off at 148 kt. Ambient conditions were 31 °C with a wind of 10 kt from 49°, providing a 9 kt headwind and a 1 kt cross-wind component.
Climb commenced 1 mile south-west of Bahcelievler, with the airplane ascending from 1,035 ft asl to 39,959 ft asl, a gain of 38,924 ft achieved in 42 minutes while covering 291 nm.
The first cruise segment began 2 miles south-west of Cherso, Central Macedonia, Greece, and persisted for 118 minutes, during which 844 nm were flown at level altitude.
Descent started overhead Sant Lluis, Balearic Islands, Spain, where the aircraft descended from 40,000 ft asl to 2,554 ft asl, a loss of 37,446 ft in 29 minutes while traversing 209 nm.
A brief cruise phase followed 10 miles south-east of SB22 Valencia, lasting 2 minutes and covering 7 nm at level flight.
Subsequent descent began 4 miles south-east of SB22 Valencia, with the airplane lowering from 2,484 ft asl to 1,468 ft asl, a reduction of 1,017 ft in 2 minutes over a distance of 6 nm.
The final approach to runway 30 at LEVC Valencia Airport was executed from the south-east, on a heading of 296.0° at 4 nm and 1,247 ft agl, under conditions of 32 °C, wind 2 kt from 359°, a 1 kt headwind and a 2 kt cross-wind.
Landing was performed on runway 30, whose length is 2,910 m. The threshold speed was recorded at 130 kt, touchdown occurred 307 m down the runway at 122 kt, and the vertical speed at touchdown was -106 fpm. The total landing distance measured 793 m, equivalent to 27 % of the runway.
Runway rollout proceeded with perfect alignment, completing the landing roll without deviation.
The aircraft taxied from the runway to the parking area in 1 minute, covering less than 1 nm.
In total, the flight covered 1,364 nm, required 202 minutes of airborne time, and consumed 8,121 kg of fuel.
The Boeing 737-800 entered the final approach to runway 30 at LEVC Valencia Airport from the south-east on a heading of 296.0 ° at 4 nm and 1,247 ft agl. At the 1,000 ft gate the approach was assessed as unstable because the sink rate was too high, despite the local weather of 32 °C, wind 2 kt from 359 °, crosswind 2 kt and headwind 1 kt.
Threshold height was reported as good and the threshold speed was good at 130 kt, indicating the aircraft was correctly configured for landing.
Touchdown occurred with a speed of 122 kt that was judged good, a smooth touchdown rate of minus 106 fpm, and a very good runway touchdown alignment. The touchdown point was good at 307 m from the threshold and the total landing distance was 793 m, representing 27 % of the 2,910 m runway.
Runway rollout alignment was perfect, and the aircraft continued along the centreline to a complete stop within the remaining runway length.
The primary area for refinement is the high sink rate that caused an unstable approach; maintaining a lower, controlled descent will secure a stabilized approach at the 1,000 ft gate. With this adjustment the already excellent performance can be fully sustained.
