MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,395 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 462 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Eindhoven Airport, taking 13 minutes and covering a distance of 4 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 03, with the aircraft lifting off at a speed of 160 knots. The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 9°C, a wind speed of 7 knots from a direction of 360°, resulting in a crosswind of 4 knots and a headwind of 6 knots.
As the aircraft climbed away from Eindhoven, it began its enroute climb 1 mile south of Batadorp, Provincie Noord-Brabant, The Netherlands. The climb took place from an altitude of 1,101 feet above sea level to 10,683 feet above sea level, an increase of 9,582 feet in just 4 minutes, covering a distance of 18 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise then started overhead Ysselsteyn, Provincie Limburg, The Netherlands, lasting for 2 minutes and covering 10 nautical miles.
The enroute descent began 1 mile south east of Wellerlooi, Provincie Limburg, The Netherlands, with the aircraft descending from 10,283 feet above sea level to 2,899 feet above sea level, a decrease of 7,384 feet in 5 minutes, covering a distance of 18 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise then started overhead Viersen, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany, lasting for 10 minutes and covering 10 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached its destination, Düsseldorf Airport, it began its final approach to runway 05R from the south west, heading 53.0° at an altitude of 1,268 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway. The landing took place on a runway length of 2,395 meters, with the threshold height being slightly above the target, but the threshold speed was good at 137 knots. The touchdown distance was also good at 461 meters, but the touchdown speed was a little fast at 129 knots, resulting in a hard touchdown rate of -444 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the runway rollout alignment was also perfect after the landing.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 7°C, a wind speed of 6 knots from a direction of 0°, resulting in a crosswind of 5 knots and a headwind of 4 knots. The total landing distance was 1,136 meters, which was 47% of the runway length. The total flight distance was 66 nautical miles, taking 37 minutes, and the aircraft used 1,374 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed on runway 05R at EDDL Düsseldorf Airport, achieving a score of 95.2%. The aircraft approached the runway from the southwest, heading 53.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,268 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was executed with precision, and the aircraft landed safely on the designated runway.
The threshold height at 57 feet agl was slightly above the target, indicating a minor deviation from the ideal landing height. However, the threshold speed of 137 knots was within the acceptable range, demonstrating good control and management of the aircraft's descent. The touchdown distance of 461 meters was also satisfactory, indicating a smooth and controlled landing.
Despite the satisfactory touchdown distance, the touchdown speed of 129 knots was slightly faster than desired, which may have contributed to a harder-than-ideal touchdown rate of -444 feet per minute (fpm). This could be a point for improvement in future landings. On the other hand, the runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was well-aligned with the runway centerline at the moment of touchdown.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 7°C and a wind speed of 6 knots at 0°. The crosswind component was 5 knots, while the headwind component was 4 knots, resulting in a net headwind of 1 knot. These conditions were relatively calm and did not pose any significant challenges to the landing.
The total landing distance of 1,136 meters was 47% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing distance. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, demonstrating good control and management of the aircraft's deceleration after touchdown. Overall, the landing was executed with precision and control, and the aircraft came to a stop safely on the runway.
