Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks at 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,760 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,760 m of the 3,168 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 527 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Boeing 777F taxied from the parking area to runway 25C at VHHH Hong Kong International Airport in 6 minutes, covering 4 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 25C, the aircraft used a takeoff distance of 1,872 m (52 % of runway) and lifted off at 188 kt; local weather reported a temperature of 29 °C, wind 9 kt at 330 °, crosswind 9 kt and headwind 2 kt.
The initial climb began 1 mile west of VHHH, climbing from 1,017 ft asl to 30,990 ft asl-a gain of 29,972 ft-in 26 minutes while covering 191 nm.
Level cruise commenced 61 miles north of RCLM Dongsha Island Airport and continued for 246 minutes, traversing 2,154 nm.
A subsequent climb started at latitude 43.2304355, longitude 150.2545294, rising from 31,480 ft asl to 32,997 ft asl (increase of 1,518 ft) in 2 minutes over 14 nm.
The next cruise segment began at latitude 43.4076215, longitude 150.5067061 and lasted 197 minutes, covering 1,629 nm.
A further climb was initiated 102 miles north-west of PAKO Nikolski Air Station, ascending from 32,992 ft asl to 34,989 ft asl (gain of 1,997 ft) in 3 minutes across 28 nm.
Cruise continued 80 miles north-west of PAKO for 237 minutes, a distance of 2,113 nm.
Descent began 91 miles south-west of Bodega Bay, descending from 34,945 ft asl to 9,204 ft asl (loss of 25,741 ft) in 15 minutes while covering 103 nm.
A short level cruise followed 12 miles west of Pescadero for 5 minutes, adding 18 nm to the flight path.
The next descent started 2 miles west of Portola Valley, dropping from 7,929 ft asl to 1,306 ft asl (decrease of 6,623 ft) in 7 minutes and covering 21 nm.
Final approach to runway 30 at KOAK San Francisco Bay Oakland International Airport was executed from the south-east, on a heading of 310.0 ° at 4 nm and 1,291 ft agl.
Landing on runway 30, which is 3,168 m long, occurred with a threshold speed of 146 kt; touchdown was 112 m beyond the touchdown zone at 143 kt, with a touchdown rate of minus 253 fpm and perfect alignment. Local weather reported a temperature of 20 °C, wind 3 kt at 309 °, crosswind 0 kt and headwind 3 kt. Total landing distance was 1,680 m (53 % of runway).
Runway rollout alignment was very good, completing the landing phase without deviation.
The aircraft taxied from the runway to the parking area in 1 minute, covering less than 1 nm.
In total, the flight covered 6,280 nm, lasted 748 minutes, and consumed 108,299 kg of fuel.
The final approach to runway 30 at KOAK was flown from the south-east on a heading of 310.0 ° at 4 nm and 1,291 ft agl. The approach was assessed as stabilised at the 1,000 ft gate, with gear, flaps, sink rate, glideslope and centreline all within limits. Local weather was 20 °C with wind 3 kt from 309 °, giving a 3 kt headwind and zero crosswind.
At threshold the height was good and the threshold speed was good at 146 kt. The aircraft crossed the runway threshold and continued the flare in accordance with the indicated speed.
Touchdown occurred 112 m beyond the touchdown zone with a speed of 143 kt, noted as a little fast, and a touchdown rate of minus 253 fpm, rated fair. Runway touchdown alignment was perfect and the total landing distance was 1,680 m, representing 53 % of the 3,168 m runway.
Rollout alignment was very good, with the aircraft remaining centered on the runway throughout the deceleration phase.
To refine the already strong performance, reduce the touchdown speed slightly toward the target VREF to improve the vertical rate, and ensure the flare height is consistent to achieve a smoother touchdown. Maintaining these adjustments will help convert the minor speed excess into an even more efficient landing.
