Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,996 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 87 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft, an FWB EasyJet, taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Perth International Airport, taking 11 minutes and covering a distance of 2 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 06, with the aircraft lifting off after a takeoff distance of 910 meters, which was 42% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 150 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of 38°C temperature and winds of 13 knots at 79 degrees. The crosswind was 5 knots, while the headwind was 12 knots. The enroute climb started overhead Perth International Airport, with the aircraft ascending from 1,104 feet above sea level to 35,536 feet above sea level, an increase of 34,432 feet in 13 minutes, covering a distance of 77 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began 9 miles south of Wyalkatchem Airport and lasted for 16 minutes, covering a distance of 117 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent from 36,160 feet above sea level to 3,299 feet above sea level, a decrease of 32,860 feet in 16 minutes, covering a distance of 92 nautical miles. The descent started 8 miles north of Koolyanobbing.
Following the descent, the aircraft entered another enroute level cruise, this time starting 8 miles west of Hannans and lasting for 3 minutes, covering a distance of 5 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 11 at Kalgoorlie Boulder Airport was made from the west, with the aircraft heading 111.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,346 feet above ground level.
The landing took place on runway 11, with the aircraft touching down at a speed of 106 knots and a distance of 85 meters. The touchdown rate was hard at -453 feet per minute, but the runway touchdown alignment was very good. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 28°C temperature and winds of 14 knots at 70 degrees, with a crosswind of 9 knots and a headwind of 10 knots.
The total landing distance was 518 meters, which was 26% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 11.1 meters from the centreline. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area, taking 2 minutes and covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 297 nautical miles, taking 60 minutes, and the aircraft used 1,791 kilograms of fuel.
The FWB EasyJet aircraft successfully landed at YPKG Kalgoorlie Boulder Airport, achieving a score of 92.0%. The final approach to runway 11 was conducted from the west, with the aircraft heading 111.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,346 feet above ground level.
The landing was executed on runway 11, which has a length of 1,996 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed of 105 knots was well below the target, indicating that the pilot was cautious to avoid stalling the aircraft. The touchdown distance of 85 meters was also good, and the touchdown speed of 106 knots was within the acceptable range.
However, the touchdown rate was hard, with a rate of -453 feet per minute. This may indicate that the pilot could have applied a smoother touchdown, but it did not significantly impact the overall performance of the landing. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot maintained a stable and aligned approach to the runway.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 28°C and a wind speed of 14 knots at 70°. The crosswind component was 9 knots, while the headwind component was 10 knots. These conditions did not appear to significantly impact the landing, and the pilot was able to maintain control of the aircraft throughout the approach and touchdown.
The total landing distance was 518 meters, which is 26% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating that the pilot was able to bring the aircraft to a stop quickly and efficiently. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 11.1 meters from the centerline, which may indicate that the pilot could have applied a smoother and more controlled rollout.
Overall, the FWB EasyJet aircraft performed well during the landing at YPKG Kalgoorlie Boulder Airport, achieving a good score and demonstrating a high level of proficiency in the pilot.
