Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate for a circuit: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate is an instrument-approach check and does not apply.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 10,011 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 2,094 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight in the PA28 Warrior II began with a departure roll on runway 35R at KAPA Centennial. The takeoff distance was 209 ft, which accounted for 2% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 59 kn. The local weather at the time of departure was 71 °F, with a wind speed of 5 kn coming from 118 °. There was a crosswind of 4 kn and a tailwind of 2 kn during takeoff.
The flight followed a right-hand pattern entry from runway 35R at KAPA Centennial, covering a distance of less than 1 nm in 18 seconds. This was followed by a right-hand pattern crosswind, covering a similar distance in 20 seconds. The pattern downwind turn covered 1 nm at an angle of 76.6 ° to the runway, taking 86 seconds. The base leg turn covered 1 nm at a 45-degree angle to the runway, with a time of 53.5 ° seconds. The final turn covered less than 1 nm in 37 seconds.
The landing was executed on runway 35R at KAPA Centennial, which has a length of 10,011 ft. The height at the threshold was 80 ft above ground level, and the speed at the threshold was 71 kn. The touchdown occurred 2,010 ft from the threshold, at a speed of 59 kn with a vertical speed indicator reading of -189 ft/min. The local weather at the time of landing was 70 °F, with a wind speed of 5 kn from 119 °. There was a crosswind of 5 kn and a tailwind of 3 kn during landing. The total landing distance was 2,815 ft, which accounted for 28% of the runway length.
After landing, taxiing to the parking area from the runway took 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nm. The total flight distance was 6 nm, taking 19 minutes and using 3 lbs of fuel.
