Improve the taxi
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 9,341 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 988 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 12 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 26L at EGKK London Gatwick Airport. The takeoff distance was 3,448 feet, which accounted for 42% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 159 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 52 degrees Fahrenheit and a wind speed of 10 knots from a direction of 240 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 3 knots and a headwind of 9 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting overhead Charlwood in Surrey, England. The climb from 1,260 feet above sea level to 3,779 feet above sea level, an increase of 2,518 feet, was achieved in just 1 minute and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 1 mile north of Rusper in West Sussex, England, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 4 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another climb, this time from 3,863 feet above sea level to 4,822 feet above sea level, an increase of 959 feet, in 2 minutes and covering 7 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise started 1 mile south of Oxted in Surrey, England, and lasted for 3 minutes, covering a distance of 15 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began another climb, this time from 4,845 feet above sea level to 26,747 feet above sea level, an increase of 21,902 feet, in 10 minutes and covering 50 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise started 1 mile south west of Dovercourt in Essex, England, and lasted for 5 minutes, covering a distance of 41 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent, starting 27 miles east of Aldeburgh in Suffolk, England. The descent from 26,607 feet above sea level to 1,295 feet above sea level, a decrease of 25,312 feet, was achieved in 20 minutes and covered a distance of 90 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 18C at EHAM Amsterdam Airport Schiphol was made from the north, heading 183.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,269 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 18C was successful, with a touchdown distance of 979 feet and a touchdown speed of 132 knots, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was fair at -217 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 37 degrees Fahrenheit and a wind speed of 7 knots from a direction of 190 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 7 knots. The total landing distance was 4,364 feet, which accounted for 47% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect.
The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 6 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 219 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 60 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 5,197 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at EHAM Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, demonstrating a high level of proficiency in its approach and landing procedures. The final approach to runway 18C was initiated from the north, with the aircraft heading 183.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,269 feet above ground level (agl).
The aircraft's performance during the landing was impressive, with a score of 99.7%. The threshold height was good, indicating that the aircraft was at the correct altitude as it approached the runway. The threshold speed of 134 knots was also within the acceptable range, demonstrating the pilot's ability to manage the aircraft's speed during the approach.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's performance was satisfactory, with a touchdown distance of 979 feet, which is within the acceptable range. However, the touchdown speed of 132 knots was slightly faster than the recommended speed, which may indicate a slight overcorrection by the pilot. The touchdown rate of -217 feet per minute (fpm) was fair, suggesting that the aircraft's descent was not as smooth as it could have been.
The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was aligned with the runway centerline at the moment of touchdown. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 37°F and a wind speed of 7 knots from 190°, were favorable for the landing. The crosswind component was minimal, at 1 knot, while the headwind component was 7 knots, which helped to stabilize the aircraft's approach.
The total landing distance of 4,364 feet was 47% of the runway length, which is within the acceptable range. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, indicating that the aircraft's brakes were applied smoothly and effectively, allowing the aircraft to come to a stop without any issues. Overall, the landing was a success, demonstrating the pilot's skill and experience in navigating the Boeing 737-800 through a challenging approach and landing scenario.
