Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 2,257 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 2,257 m of the 3,006 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 805 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 26 at Bournemouth Airport (EGHH), where the Boeing 737-800 took off with a takeoff distance of 1,317 meters, which is 72% of the runway. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 158 knots. At the time of departure, the local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of 23 degrees Celsius, a wind speed of 6 knots from a direction of 260 degrees, resulting in a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 6 knots.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb 1 mile west of Bournemouth Airport, rising from an altitude of 1,050 feet above sea level to 37,786 feet above sea level, an increase of 36,737 feet in just 22 minutes, covering a distance of 118 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise phase started 1 mile northwest of Etalleville, France, and lasted for 169 minutes, during which the aircraft covered a distance of 1,293 nautical miles.
The enroute descent phase began 2 miles southwest of Aliaga, Turkey, where the aircraft descended from an altitude of 39,177 feet above sea level to 2,906 feet above sea level, a decrease of 36,270 feet in 28 minutes, covering a distance of 155 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered another enroute level cruise phase, this time starting 3 miles south of Dalaman International Airport (LTBS) in Turkey, and lasted for just 5 minutes, covering a short distance of 15 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 19 at LTBS Dalaman International Airport began from the north, heading 187.0 degrees at a distance of 3 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,199 feet above ground level. The aircraft landed on the runway, which had a length of 3,006 meters, with a good threshold height. The threshold speed was also good at 136 knots. The touchdown point was 382 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 113 knots, which was good. The touchdown rate was excellent at -98 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 30 degrees Celsius, a wind speed of 11 knots from a direction of 200 degrees, resulting in a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 11 knots. The total landing distance was 2,169 meters, which is 72% of the runway. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 13.0 meters from the centerline.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area from the runway in just 4 minutes, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 1,594 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 227 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 8,572 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at LTBS Dalaman International Airport, achieving an overall score of 85.2%. The final approach to runway 19 was conducted from the north, with a heading of 187.0° at a distance of 3 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,199 feet above ground level.
The aircraft touched down on the runway with a good threshold height, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 136 knots. However, the touchdown point was located 382 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, which may indicate a slight deviation from the intended landing path. The touchdown speed of 113 knots was within acceptable limits, and the touchdown rate of -98 feet per minute was excellent, indicating a smooth and controlled descent.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 30°C and a wind speed of 11 knots from a direction of 200°. This resulted in a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 11 knots, which may have contributed to the slight deviation from the centerline during the rollout. The total landing distance of 2,169 meters was 72% of the available runway length, indicating a relatively short landing distance.
Despite the slight misalignment of the runway rollout by 13.0 meters from the centerline, the overall performance of the aircraft during the landing was satisfactory. The pilots demonstrated good control and management of the aircraft, and the landing was completed safely and efficiently.
