MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,474 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 278 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Heydar Aliyev International Airport, the Learjet 35A began its journey by taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 15 minutes and covered a distance of 4 nautical miles. As the aircraft lined up on runway 17, the local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of 22 °C, with a wind speed of 18 kt blowing from 340 °. The aircraft's takeoff distance of 3,330 meters was 101% of the runway length, and liftoff speed was achieved at 118 kt.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb 1 mile east of Yeni Suraxani, Azerbaijan, reaching an altitude of 13,616 ft asl in just 4 minutes, covering a distance of 13 nautical miles. The climb was followed by a brief level cruise 5 miles south east of Badamdar, lasting 2 minutes and covering 8 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent overhead Lokbatan, Azerbaijan, and continued to descend and level cruise throughout its journey, navigating through various points in Azerbaijan, including Sumqayit City, Shamakhi Rayon, Aghsu Rayon, and Goychay Rayon. The final approach to runway 16 at Gabala International Airport was initiated from the north, with the aircraft maintaining a heading of 166.0 ° at 4 nautical miles and 972 ft agl.
The Learjet 35A landed safely on runway 16 at Gabala International Airport, with a touchdown point 234 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed of 118 kt was within acceptable limits, and the touchdown rate of -261 fpm was fair. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.8 meters from the centerline, but the runway rollout alignment was very good. The total landing distance of 991 meters was 29% of the runway length, and the aircraft used 391 kg of fuel for the entire journey, covering a total distance of 166 nautical miles in 50 minutes.
The final approach to runway 16 at UBBQ Gabala International Airport from the north was executed with precision, with the aircraft maintaining a heading of 166.0° at 4 nm and 972 ft above ground level. The approach quality was satisfactory, with a good threshold height and speed of 123 kt, indicating a well-controlled descent. The touchdown point was 234 m beyond the touchdown zone, which, although not ideal, was still within acceptable parameters.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed of 118 kt was good, but the touchdown rate of -261 fpm was only fair, suggesting a slightly longer than ideal descent. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.8 m from the centreline, which may have been due to the 2 kt crosswind component. However, the local weather conditions, with a temperature of 28 °C and a 6 kt headwind, were generally favourable for the landing.
The total landing distance of 991 m, which accounted for 29% of the runway length, was within acceptable limits. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating a smooth and controlled deceleration. Overall, the landing was considered satisfactory, with a score of 97.3%, reflecting a high level of proficiency and control throughout the approach and touchdown phases.
