MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Arrival
Keep the back pressure coming once the flare is established, holding the nose up through to touchdown instead of easing it.
What happened: The flare arrested the sink but 270 fpm of it came back before touchdown, and in flights like this one that returning sink usually carries through to a firm or hard touchdown at 480 fpm.
Watch for: Vertical speed indicator: the sink held near zero all the way through touchdown, not allowed to build back up.
There are several things that can go wrong during the flare, carrying too much speed over the threshold, starting the flare at the wrong height and inconsistent flight control inputs, all contribute to a poor flare resulting in a hard touchdown or a float down the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,533 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,533 m of the 3,329 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 700 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The 480 fpm arrival was firm.
The rest of the report
The Airbus A319 taxied from the parking area to runway 30 at LEBB Bilbao Airport, a taxi of 10 minutes covering 2 nm.
Take-off was performed on runway 30 with a distance of 1,156 m (54 % of the runway). Rotation occurred at 137 kt. Local weather was 18 °C, wind 2 kt from 269°, with a 1 kt cross-wind and a 2 kt head-wind.
The initial climb to 1,000 ft agl lasted 24 seconds, averaging 1,862 fpm and reaching 162 kt at the top. The climb continued from 1,396 ft asl to 34,013 ft asl in 14 minutes, covering 78 nm, beginning 1 mile east of Erandio.
Cruise was level at 34,000 ft asl for 55 minutes, covering 413 nm, beginning 4 miles north-west of Guethary.
Descent from 34,009 ft asl to 1,302 ft asl took 23 minutes over 130 nm, starting overhead Flers-sur-Noye, with a brief level-off at 10,900 ft asl.
Final approach to runway 25R at EBBR Brussels Airport descended from 1,241 ft agl to -87 ft agl in 114 seconds. Stabilisation checks at 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway were met for gear down, landing flap, sink rate, glideslope, centreline, speed and wings level. Configuration on final was flap position 2 at 2,037 ft agl, speed 198 kt.
Landing on runway 25R (runway length 3,329 m) had a threshold height of 64 ft agl, above target, and a threshold speed of 125 kt, good. The flare was described as excellent; the aircraft floated before touchdown. Touchdown occurred 276 m beyond the touchdown zone at a speed of 121 kt, good, with a hard rate of -480 fpm. Runway-touchdown alignment was very good. No bounce occurred.
Total landing distance was 1,444 m (43 % of the runway). Runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 7.9 m from the centreline. Local weather was 15 °C, wind 2 kt from 270°, with a 1 kt cross-wind and a 2 kt head-wind.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area in 3 minutes, covering less than 1 nm.
The flight covered 629 nm in 104 minutes and used 3,785 kg of fuel.
