MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,759 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,759 m of the 3,370 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 349 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 6 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 777-300, then departed from runway 34 at SLVR Viru Viru International Airport in Bolivia. The takeoff distance was 1,046 meters, which accounted for 30% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 166 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 37 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 11 knots from a direction of 329 degrees.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb, which started 1 mile northwest of the airport. The climb took 17 minutes and covered a distance of 115 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from an altitude of 2,254 feet above sea level to 36,889 feet above sea level, an increase of 34,635 feet. The enroute level cruise then began 37 miles west of SLGQ Chiquitos Airport in Bolivia and lasted for 44 minutes, covering a distance of 350 nautical miles.
The enroute descent started 19 miles southeast of SGPC Aeropuerto de Pozo Colorado in Paraguay and took 22 minutes to complete, during which the aircraft descended from an altitude of 36,278 feet above sea level to 1,594 feet above sea level, a decrease of 34,683 feet. The descent covered a distance of 110 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 02 at SGAS Silvio Pettirossi International Airport in Paraguay was made from the south, heading 13.0 degrees at an altitude of 1,314 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway. The landing was made on runway 02, which had a length of 3,370 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also good at 139 knots. The touchdown distance was good at 352 meters, and the touchdown speed was 133 knots, which was also good. However, the touchdown rate was fair at -204 feet per minute.
The total landing distance was 1,682 meters, which accounted for 50% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, and the taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 2 minutes, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 584 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 93 minutes. The aircraft used 11,290 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 777-300 aircraft successfully landed at SGAS Silvio Pettirossi International Airport, achieving a high score of 99.8% on its final approach to runway 02. The aircraft approached the runway from the south, heading 13.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,314 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot's control and navigation skills were evident as the aircraft maintained a steady course and altitude throughout the approach.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway with a speed of 139 knots, which was within the acceptable threshold speed. The touchdown distance of 352 meters was also satisfactory, indicating that the pilot had successfully controlled the aircraft's descent and speed. However, the touchdown rate of -204 feet per minute (fpm) was only fair, suggesting that the pilot could have made some adjustments to achieve a smoother touchdown.
Despite the slightly high touchdown rate, the runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot had successfully aligned the aircraft with the runway centerline. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 38°C and a light wind of 2 knots at 60°, did not pose any significant challenges to the landing. The crosswind and headwind components were minimal, with 1 knot of crosswind and 1 knot of headwind, which further contributed to the smooth landing.
The total landing distance of 1,682 meters, which accounted for 50% of the runway length, was also satisfactory. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, indicating that the pilot had successfully controlled the aircraft's speed and direction during the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was successful, and the pilot's skills and experience were evident throughout the approach and landing phases.
