Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 504 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 504 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 228 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 34 at AYQM Simogu Airstrip. The Kodiak 100 aircraft accelerated down the runway, covering 196 meters, which was 39% of the runway's length. The liftoff speed was achieved at 66 knots. At the time of departure, the local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of 21 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 2 knots from a direction of 270 degrees, resulting in a 2-knot crosswind and a 1-knot headwind.
Following a brief enroute level cruise that lasted less than a minute and covered less than a nautical mile, the aircraft began its enroute climb from 5,183 feet above sea level to 12,104 feet above sea level. This climb, which covered 9 nautical miles, was completed in 5 minutes and resulted in an increase of 6,921 feet in altitude. The aircraft then entered another enroute level cruise, this time lasting 10 minutes and covering 32 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its enroute descent from 12,107 feet above sea level to 5,457 feet above sea level. This descent, which covered 3 nautical miles, was completed in 5 minutes and resulted in a decrease of 6,650 feet in altitude. The aircraft then made a brief climb from 5,440 feet above sea level to 5,351 feet above sea level, covering less than a nautical mile in the process.
The final approach to runway 19 at AYOZ Kora Airstrip was made from the north-east, with the aircraft heading 179.0 degrees at 1 nautical mile and 379 feet above ground level. However, the pilot decided to execute a go-around at 0 feet above ground level. This maneuver was repeated, and the aircraft eventually landed on runway 19, which had a length of 504 meters. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 21 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 2 knots from a direction of 270 degrees, resulting in a 2-knot crosswind and a 0-knot headwind.
The landing was characterized by a touchdown point that was very long, using more than 50% of the available runway. The touchdown speed of 63 knots was a little fast, but the touchdown rate was perfect at -12 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.5 meters from the centerline. The total landing distance was 388 meters, which was 77% of the runway's length. The runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned by 9.3 meters from the centerline.
In total, the flight covered a distance of 45 nautical miles and used 76 kilograms of fuel. The flight duration was 32 minutes.
The aircraft in question, a Kodiak 100, successfully landed at AYOZ Kora Airstrip, achieving a score of 92.6%. The final approach to runway 19 was initiated from the north east, heading 179.0° at a distance of 1 nautical mile and an altitude of -379 feet above ground level.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway, utilizing more than 50% of the available length. The threshold speed was satisfactory at 70 knots, indicating a well-executed approach. However, the touchdown speed of 63 knots was slightly faster than ideal, which may have contributed to the long touchdown point.
The touchdown rate of -12 feet per minute was perfect, demonstrating a smooth and controlled descent. Unfortunately, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.5 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to factors such as wind or pilot error.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 21°C and a wind speed of 2 knots from 270°. This resulted in a negligible crosswind component and a headwind of 0 knots. The total landing distance of 388 meters was 77% of the available runway length, indicating a relatively long rollout.
During the rollout, the aircraft's alignment was slightly misaligned by 9.3 meters from the centerline, which may have been a result of the initial misalignment during touchdown. Overall, the landing was satisfactory, but there is room for improvement in terms of touchdown speed and alignment.
