MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,550 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,550 m of the 2,597 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 507 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft, an Airbus A321, taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (KDCA). This process took 12 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 01, with the aircraft lifting off after a takeoff distance of 1,392 meters, which was 64% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 157 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to its cruising altitude, it passed over the Washington Potomac Washington area, increasing its altitude from 1,069 feet to 31,332 feet in 12 minutes and covering a distance of 112 nautical miles. The climb was followed by a level cruise that lasted 14 minutes and covered 385 nautical miles, starting 8 miles west of Franklin, West Virginia.
The aircraft then began another climb, this time from 31,718 feet to 33,641 feet in 2 minutes and covering 23 nautical miles, as it passed 3 miles west of Guthrie, Kentucky. Following this climb, the aircraft entered another level cruise, lasting 16 minutes and covering 406 nautical miles, starting 6 miles east of Dover, Tennessee.
As the flight continued, the aircraft began its descent from 33,992 feet to 11,990 feet in 14 minutes and covering 85 nautical miles, starting 3 miles south east of Lone Star, Texas. The descent was followed by a brief level cruise that lasted 2 minutes and covered 6 nautical miles, starting 1 mile north east of F69 Airpark-Dallas, Dallas, Texas.
The aircraft then began another descent, this time from 11,780 feet to 4,766 feet in 7 minutes and covering 27 nautical miles, as it passed over Carrollton, Texas. Following this descent, the aircraft entered another level cruise, lasting 2 minutes and covering 5 nautical miles, starting 1 mile south west of TS71 Flying B Ranch Airport Ovilla, Texas.
The final descent took place from 4,783 feet to 1,881 feet in 4 minutes and covering 14 nautical miles, as the aircraft passed 2 miles west of Cedar Hill, Texas. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 35R at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (KDFW), heading 0.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,302 feet above ground level.
The landing took place on runway 35R, which was 2,597 meters long. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 146 knots. The touchdown point was 87 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 136 knots, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was firm at -316 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 14 knots at 349 degrees. The crosswind was 3 knots, and the headwind was 14 knots. The total landing distance was 1,465 meters, which was 56% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good.
After landing, the aircraft taxiied to the parking area, taking 15 minutes and covering a distance of 2 nautical miles. The total flight distance was 1,073 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 99 minutes. The aircraft used 8,222 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A321 successfully landed at KDFW Dallas Fort Worth International Airport on runway 35R, achieving a high score of 98.1%. The aircraft approached the runway from the south, heading directly towards the runway at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,302 feet above ground level.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down slightly beyond the designated touchdown zone, 87 meters past the threshold. The touchdown speed of 136 knots was slightly above the target speed, indicating a slightly firm touchdown. However, the runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was well-aligned with the runway during the landing.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were moderate, with a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 14 knots from a direction of 349 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 3 knots and a headwind of 14 knots, which the aircraft successfully managed during the landing.
The total landing distance of 1,465 meters was 56% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing distance. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, suggesting that the aircraft maintained a stable and controlled descent during the landing.
Overall, the landing was successful, with the aircraft achieving a high score and demonstrating good control and stability during the approach and landing phases.
