Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,795 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 238 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 36 at EDFB Reichelsheim Airfield, where the aircraft, a Piper PA-24-250 Comanche, successfully took off after covering a distance of 269 meters, which accounted for 22% of the runway. The liftoff speed was recorded at 71 knots. At the time of departure, the local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of 10 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 9 knots blowing from 353 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 9 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to a higher altitude, it began its enroute climb from 741 feet above sea level (asl) to 2,991 feet asl, an increase of 2,250 feet in just 3 minutes, covering a distance of 7 nautical miles. The climb was initiated overhead Reichelsheim, a town in the state of Hessen, Germany. Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started overhead Karben, another town in Hessen, Germany. This phase lasted for 7 minutes and covered a distance of 16 nautical miles.
As the aircraft continued its journey, it began its enroute descent from 2,661 feet asl to 1,529 feet asl, a decrease of 1,132 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 3 nautical miles. The descent was initiated 1 mile south of Kriftel, a town in Hessen, Germany. After completing the descent, the aircraft began its final approach to runway 07L at EDDF Frankfurt Airport, which was located to the southwest. The aircraft was at an altitude of 1,182 feet above ground level (agl) and was 2 nautical miles away from the runway.
The landing on runway 07L at EDDF Frankfurt Airport was successful, with the aircraft touching down at a speed of 49 knots and covering a distance of 235 meters. The touchdown speed was slightly below the target speed of 63 knots. The touchdown rate was fair at -203 feet per minute (fpm). The runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was well-aligned with the runway centerline at the moment of touchdown. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 9 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 11 knots blowing from 10 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 10 knots and a headwind of 6 knots.
The total landing distance was 458 meters, which accounted for 16% of the runway. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 13.8 meters from the centerline. The total flight distance was 27 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 14 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 10 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Piper PA-24-250 Comanche successfully landed on runway 07L at EDDF Frankfurt Airport, achieving a score of 93.0%. The aircraft approached the runway from the southwest, heading 63.0° at 2 nautical miles and 1,182 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot maintained a good threshold height, which is a crucial aspect of a safe landing.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's threshold speed was slightly below the target speed of 63 kt, but this did not significantly impact the overall performance of the landing. The touchdown distance of 235 meters was considered good, indicating that the pilot had sufficient control over the aircraft's descent. The touchdown speed of 49 kt was also within acceptable limits, further contributing to the success of the landing.
However, the touchdown rate of -203 feet per minute (fpm) was only fair, suggesting that the pilot could have managed the aircraft's descent more efficiently. Nevertheless, this did not compromise the safety of the landing. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot had maintained a stable and controlled approach.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were characterized by a temperature of 9°C and a wind speed of 11 kt from a direction of 10°. The crosswind component was 10 kt, while the headwind component was 6 kt. These conditions presented a moderate challenge for the pilot, but they were successfully managed.
The total landing distance of 458 meters was only 16% of the runway length, which is a testament to the pilot's skill and control. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 13.8 meters from the centerline, which could be improved upon in future landings. Overall, the landing was a success, and the pilot demonstrated a high level of proficiency in navigating the aircraft to a safe touchdown.
