MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Departure
Make small rudder corrections against a point at the far end to hold the centreline.
What happened: During the ground roll you drifted 7.1 m off the runway centreline.
Watch for: Watch runway alignment against the centreline, correcting with small rudder inputs.
See Departure Roll
Arrival
Begin the flare with progressive back pressure and keep it coming until the sink is arrested, rather than flying it on flat.
What happened: The nose was barely raised in the flare and little of the sink was taken out, flying the aircraft onto the runway. This pattern usually carries through to a firm touchdown with a noticeable sink rate.
Watch for: Vertical speed indicator: a smoothly reducing sink through the normal flare band, not a steady rate into the runway.
There are several things that can go wrong during the flare, carrying too much speed over the threshold, starting the flare at the wrong height and inconsistent flight control inputs, all contribute to a poor flare resulting in a hard touchdown or a float down the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,545 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,545 m of the 2,686 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 412 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Boeing 777-300ER taxied from the parking area to runway 26R at EDDM Munich Airport in 12 minutes, covering 2 nm. Take-off was performed on runway 26R with a take-off distance of 2,252 m (57 % of the runway). Rotation occurred at 177 kt. Local weather at departure was temperature 16 °C, wind 9 kt from 280°, giving a 3 kt crosswind and a 9 kt headwind.
Initial climb to 1,000 ft agl took 26 seconds, averaging 1,690 fpm and reaching 198 kt at the top of the climb. The aircraft then climbed from 2,483 ft asl to 31,949 ft asl in 15 minutes, covering 91 nm, starting 1 mile west of Munich. After reaching cruise, it level-flew at 32,000 ft asl for 65 minutes, covering 501 nm, beginning overhead EDQN Neustadt/Aisch Airfield.
A subsequent climb from 32,011 ft asl to 35,667 ft asl took 3 minutes over 25 nm, starting 4 miles west of Chedworth. Level flight continued at 36,000 ft asl for 8 minutes, covering 61 nm, starting 3 miles south of Holme Lacy. Descent from 35,994 ft asl to 32,019 ft asl lasted 3 minutes over 22 nm, beginning 3 miles north of Aberaeron, followed by level flight at 32,000 ft asl for 12 minutes, covering 80 nm, starting 21 miles north-west of Aberporth.
The aircraft then climbed from 32,289 ft asl to 35,945 ft asl in 3 minutes, covering 23 nm, starting 2 miles west of Carlow. A long level segment between 36,000 ft asl and 38,000 ft asl lasted 365 minutes, covering 2,711 nm, beginning 1 mile north-west of Borris in Ossory. Descent from 37,675 ft asl to 1,387 ft asl took 23 minutes, covering 119 nm, starting 2 miles north-west of Palenville.
Final approach to runway 04R at KEWR Newark Liberty International Airport began with a descent from 1,427 ft agl to 132 ft agl in 107 seconds. Stabilisation checks at 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway were met for gear down, landing flap, sink rate, glideslope, centreline, speed and wings level. Configuration on final was landing gear down at 1,638 ft agl, 162 kt; final flap position 6 at 1,274 ft agl, 152 kt.
Landing was made on runway 04R, which is 2,686 m long. The threshold height was good and the threshold speed was good at 144 kt. The flare was described as very good, with little round-out. Touchdown occurred 411 m down the runway at a speed of 145 kt, a little fast, with a touchdown rate of minus 279 fpm, and alignment was perfect. No bounce occurred. Total landing distance was 1,463 m (54 % of the runway) and rollout alignment was very good. Local weather at landing was temperature 18 °C, wind 17 kt from 040°, giving a 4 kt crosswind and a 16 kt headwind.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area in 11 minutes, covering 1 nm. The total flight covered 3,644 nm in 521 minutes and used 61,923 kg of fuel.
The Boeing 777-300ER conducted a stabilised approach to runway 04R at KEWR, with gear, flaps, sink-rate, glideslope, centreline and speed all within limits as assessed at the 1,000 ft gate. The aircraft descended from 1,427 ft AGL to 132 ft AGL in 107 seconds while maintaining the local conditions of 18 °C temperature, a 17 kt wind from 040°, including a 4 kt cross-wind component and a 16 kt head-wind component.
During the threshold and flare segment the aircraft presented a good threshold height and a good threshold speed of 144 kt. The flare was executed in line with the approach parameters, preparing the aircraft for touchdown.
Touchdown occurred 414 m down the runway with a touchdown speed of 145 kt, noted as a little fast, and a touchdown rate of minus 280 fpm, rated fair. Runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The rollout covered a total landing distance of 1,463 m, representing 54 % of the 2,686 m runway, and runway rollout alignment was very good.
To tighten the final performance, reduce the touchdown speed slightly below the 144 kt threshold and aim for a gentler vertical rate to bring the -280 fpm descent closer to a flatter profile; these adjustments will help convert the already high 97.7 % score into an even tighter landing.
