Smooth the climb
A good takeoff has a defined shape. It also has a defined end. For an airliner that's thrust reduction and acceleration, commonly somewhere around 1,000 to 1,500 ft above the airfield depending on the operator, while for a light aircraft it's established at Vy with the flaps on schedule. Most simmers have no defined end to their takeoff, which is exactly why it never gets judged.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,913 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the full 1,913 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 402 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the HU-16 Albatross taking off from runway 02 at UKRB Krasny Yar Airport. The aircraft rolled down the runway, covering a distance of 1,073 feet, which accounted for 56% of the runway's length. The liftoff speed was 92 knots, and the aircraft lifted off smoothly.
As the aircraft gained altitude, it entered a level cruise phase, which lasted for 2 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. This brief period allowed the aircraft to stabilize and reach a steady state before beginning its descent.
The final approach to runway 02 was initiated from the south-west, with the aircraft heading at 29.0 degrees and flying at an altitude of 162 feet above ground level. The aircraft was at 0 nautical miles from the runway threshold, preparing for landing.
The landing was executed smoothly, with the aircraft touching down on the runway at a speed of 67 knots. The touchdown distance was 391 feet, which was a good indication of the aircraft's control and stability. The touchdown rate was also smooth, at -110 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good.
The local weather conditions during the landing were characterized by a temperature of 12 degrees Fahrenheit and a wind speed of 4 knots from a direction of 130 degrees. The crosswind component was 4 knots, and the tailwind component was 1 knot. Despite these conditions, the aircraft landed safely and rolled out perfectly, covering a total distance of 1,186 feet, which was 62% of the runway's length.
The flight was a short one, covering a total distance of 2 nautical miles and lasting 6 minutes. The aircraft used a minimal amount of fuel, consuming -1 pound during the flight. Overall, the flight was a successful one, with the aircraft performing well in various phases of flight.
The HU-16 Albatross aircraft successfully landed at UKRB Krasny Yar Airport, showcasing a high level of proficiency in its pilots. The aircraft approached the runway from the southwest, aligning itself with the runway at a heading of 29.0°. The pilots maintained a steady altitude of 162 feet above ground level (agl) at a distance of 0 nautical miles from the runway, indicating a precise control over the aircraft's descent.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway at a speed of 67 knots, which is considered good. The touchdown distance of 391 feet was also satisfactory, indicating that the pilots had effectively managed the aircraft's descent and speed. The touchdown rate of -110 feet per minute (fpm) was smooth, suggesting that the pilots had maintained control over the aircraft's vertical motion.
The runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the pilots had accurately aligned the aircraft with the runway. This is particularly impressive given the local weather conditions, which included a temperature of 12°F and a wind speed of 4 knots at 130°. The crosswind component was 4 knots, while the tailwind component was 1 knot, which could have potentially affected the aircraft's landing.
Despite these challenging weather conditions, the pilots successfully managed the aircraft's landing, with a total landing distance of 1,186 feet, which is 62% of the runway length. The runway length at UKRB Krasny Yar Airport is 1,913 feet, making this a relatively short landing distance. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, indicating that the pilots had effectively controlled the aircraft's roll-out after touchdown.
Overall, the landing of the HU-16 Albatross at UKRB Krasny Yar Airport was a success, with the pilots demonstrating a high level of skill and proficiency in their handling of the aircraft. The touchdown speed was excessively high at 72 knots, but this was not a major concern given the overall smoothness of the landing.
