Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: six checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out. These checks are the approach's score.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 6,528 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 1,064 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing Colonel James Jabara Airport in Wichita, Kansas, the aircraft began its journey by taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took approximately 8 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. With the runway clear, the aircraft initiated its departure roll on runway 18, accelerating to a liftoff speed of 129 knots. The takeoff distance of 2,177 feet was achieved at 36% of the runway's length, indicating a smooth and efficient departure.
As the aircraft climbed to its cruising altitude, it began its enroute climb, ascending from 2,282 feet above sea level to 30,315 feet, an increase of 28,032 feet in just 11 minutes and covering 76 nautical miles. The climb was initiated overhead Colonel James Jabara Airport, marking the beginning of the aircraft's journey to its destination. The enroute descent started 3 miles northwest of Lebo, Kansas, where the aircraft began its descent from 30,568 feet to 1,527 feet, a decrease of 29,041 feet in 17 minutes and covering 89 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 19 at Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport was initiated from the north, with the aircraft maintaining a heading of 191.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 766 feet above ground level. The landing was executed with a threshold speed slightly above target at 130 knots, and the touchdown distance was good at 1,062 feet, although the touchdown speed of 127 knots was slightly fast. The touchdown rate was firm at -302 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown position was misaligned by 31 feet from the centreline. Following the landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, a process that took approximately 2 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 171 nautical miles, and the aircraft used 3 pounds of fuel during the journey, which took a total of 37 minutes.
The aircraft, C750, successfully executed a landing on runway 19 at KMKC Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport, demonstrating a good approach quality. The final approach was initiated from the north, heading 191.0° at 4 nm and 766 ft above ground level (agl). The aircraft maintained a steady descent, with a threshold height that met expectations. However, the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 130 kt, indicating a slight deviation from the optimal approach speed.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft exhibited a firm touchdown rate of -302 fpm, which was consistent with the fast touchdown speed of 127 kt. The touchdown distance of 1,062 ft was within acceptable limits, but the touchdown speed was slightly above the recommended range. The runway touchdown position was misaligned by 31 ft from the centreline, which may have contributed to the slightly misaligned runway rollout alignment of 35 ft from the centreline. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 82 °F and a headwind of 18 kt, likely influenced the approach and landing.
The total landing distance of 2,499 ft was 38% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing distance. Overall, the landing was scored 90.6%, reflecting a good performance despite some minor deviations from the optimal approach and landing characteristics. The pilot's ability to maintain control and navigate the aircraft to a safe touchdown, despite the slight misalignments, was commendable.
