MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: seven checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
At the 500 ft gate: sink rate above what the glideslope needed, off the runway's 3° glideslope, off the centreline, wings not level and speed above the reference speed.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 6,858 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 1,095 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from SBBE Val de Cans/Júlio Cezar Ribeiro International Airport in Belém, Para, Brazil, the Vision Jet began its journey with a smooth departure roll on runway 06. The aircraft accelerated to liftoff speed of 97 kt, utilizing 2,473 ft of the 9,000 ft runway, which accounted for 27% of its length. The local weather conditions at the time of departure featured a temperature of 87 °F, with a gentle headwind of 2 kt and a crosswind of 7 kt.
As the aircraft climbed to its enroute cruise altitude of 24,008 ft, it covered a distance of 60 nm in 18 minutes, achieving an impressive climb rate. The enroute level cruise phase that followed, which started 36 miles east of SBTH Anajás Airport Tucuma, lasted 20 minutes and covered 97 nm. The aircraft then began its descent, reducing its altitude from 23,996 ft to 15,235 ft in 7 minutes, covering 25 nm. This was followed by another level cruise phase, which lasted 20 minutes and covered less than 1 nm. The final descent phase, which started 3 miles north west of SBMQ Macapá - Alberto Alcolumbre International Airport, resulted in a decrease of 13,792 ft in 6 minutes, covering 12 nm.
The Vision Jet then commenced its final approach to runway 08 at SBMQ Macapá - Alberto Alcolumbre International Airport, with a heading of 57.0° from the south west. The aircraft touched down on the runway at a speed of 87 kt, with a touchdown distance of 1,090 ft. The total landing distance was 3,427 ft, which accounted for 50% of the 6,858 ft runway. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, and the aircraft taxied to the parking area in 1 minute, covering less than 1 nm. The total flight distance was 198 nm, and the aircraft used 368 lbs of fuel, completing the journey in 55 minutes.
The Vision Jet touched down on runway 08 at SBMQ Macapá - Alberto Alcolumbre International Airport with a smooth touchdown rate of -132 fpm, indicating a well-executed landing. The aircraft's touchdown speed of 87 kt was slightly above the target, but still within acceptable limits. The touchdown distance of 1,090 ft was good, considering the available runway length of 6,858 ft.
As the aircraft rolled out, it maintained perfect centreline alignment, demonstrating excellent control and coordination. The runway rollout was smooth and controlled, with the aircraft coming to a stop at 3,427 ft, which is 50% of the runway length. This indicates a good balance between stopping distance and runway usage. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed of 98 kt was well above the target, suggesting a high level of situational awareness and control.
The overall landing performance was impressive, with a score of 96.2%. The approach quality was good, with a heading of 57.0° at 2 nm and 1,361 ft agl, indicating a well-executed approach. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 82°F and wind at 9 kt at 70°, were not particularly challenging, but the pilot's ability to adapt and execute a smooth landing in these conditions was noteworthy.
