MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,539 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 462 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took approximately 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-600, then departed from runway 12 at SBSG Governador Aluízio Alves International Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,168 meters, which accounted for 39% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 147 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 26 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 2 knots from a direction of 190 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 2 knots and a headwind of 0 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile northwest of Sao Goncalo do Amarante in Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. The climb took 36 minutes, during which the aircraft ascended from 1,308 feet above sea level to 39,915 feet above sea level, an increase of 38,607 feet. The enroute climb covered a distance of 249 nautical miles.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 1 mile east of Arapiraca in Alagoas, Brazil. This phase lasted for 92 minutes and covered a distance of 874 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 4 miles northwest of SBWZ Varginha Airport in Varginha, Minas Gerais, Brazil. The descent took 11 minutes, during which the aircraft descended from 40,325 feet above sea level to 2,189 feet above sea level, a decrease of 38,136 feet. The enroute descent covered a distance of 324 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 3 miles north of SSSS São Francisco do Sul Airport in São Francisco do Sul, Santa Catarina, Brazil. This phase lasted for 4 minutes and covered a distance of 11 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 33 at SBJV Lauro Carneiro de Loyola Airport, approaching from the southeast at a heading of 309.0 degrees. The aircraft was at an altitude of 1,268 feet above ground level and 4 nautical miles from the runway.
The landing on runway 33 was successful, with a touchdown distance of 464 meters, which was good. The touchdown speed was 120 knots, and the touchdown rate was -163 feet per minute, both of which were good. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 22 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 6 knots from a direction of 123 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 1 knot and a tailwind of 5 knots.
The total landing distance was 956 meters, which accounted for 62% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took less than 1 minute and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 1,465 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 148 minutes. The aircraft used 9,067 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-600 aircraft successfully landed at SBJV Lauro Carneiro de Loyola Airport, demonstrating a high level of precision and control. The final approach to runway 33 was executed from the south east, with the aircraft heading 309.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,268 feet above ground level (agl). This approach was characterized by a score of 99.5%, indicating an exceptionally smooth and controlled descent.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway with a speed of 120 kt, which was within the target range. The touchdown distance of 464 meters was also satisfactory, indicating that the pilot had maintained a stable and controlled approach. The touchdown rate of -163 feet per minute (fpm) was within the acceptable limits, further emphasizing the pilot's skill and expertise.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 22°C and a wind speed of 6 kt from 123°. Although there was a slight tailwind component of 5 kt, it did not significantly impact the landing. The crosswind component was minimal, at 1 kt, which allowed the pilot to maintain a stable approach and touchdown.
The total landing distance of 956 meters was 62% of the runway length, indicating that the pilot had maintained a controlled and stable approach. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, demonstrating the pilot's ability to maintain control and stability throughout the landing process. Overall, this landing was a testament to the pilot's skill and expertise, as well as the aircraft's performance and handling characteristics.
