Improve the taxi
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 5,470 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 288 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a short taxiing period from the parking to the runway, taking approximately 1 minute and covering less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Cessna CJ4 Citation, then departed from runway 18R at KTUL Tulsa International Airport. The takeoff distance was 2,782 feet, which is 45% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 148 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 63°F and a wind speed of 1 knot from 270°. The crosswind component was 1 knot, while the headwind component was 0 knots. The aircraft began its enroute climb 2 miles south of KTUL Tulsa International Airport, rising from an altitude of 1,707 feet above sea level to 24,962 feet above sea level, an increase of 23,255 feet, in 9 minutes and covering 31 nautical miles.
Following the initial climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 4 miles west of Adair, Oklahoma. This phase lasted for 55 minutes and covered a distance of 390 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent 1 mile southwest of 1LL7 Edwin G. Bennett Airport in Sheffield, Illinois. The descent from 24,995 feet above sea level to 2,592 feet above sea level, a decrease of 22,403 feet, took 15 minutes and covered 64 nautical miles.
The aircraft entered another level cruise phase, this time overhead Maple Park, Illinois, which lasted for 2 minutes and covered 5 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 15 at KARR Aurora Municipal Airport was made from the northwest, with the aircraft heading 147.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,258 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 15 at KARR Aurora Municipal Airport was successful, with the touchdown distance being good at 283 feet. The touchdown speed was slightly above the target at 103 knots, while the touchdown rate was fair at -274 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 15 feet from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 59°F and a wind speed of 1 knot from 270°, with a crosswind component of 1 knot and a tailwind component of 1 knot.
The total landing distance was 1,499 feet, which is 27% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took approximately 1 minute and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 496 nautical miles, taking 86 minutes, and the aircraft used 0 pounds of fuel.
The Cessna CJ4 Citation successfully landed at KARR Aurora Municipal Airport, achieving a score of 98.6%. The aircraft approached the runway from the northwest, heading 147.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,258 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was executed with good threshold height, indicating that the aircraft was properly configured for landing.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's threshold speed was slightly above the target speed of 102 kt, registering at 103 kt. However, the touchdown distance of 283 feet was considered good, indicating that the pilot maintained control and managed the descent effectively. The touchdown speed of 100 kt was a little fast, but this did not significantly impact the overall performance of the landing.
The touchdown rate of -274 feet per minute (fpm) was fair, suggesting that the aircraft's descent was not excessively steep. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 15 feet from the centerline, which may have been due to factors such as wind or pilot error. However, this did not significantly impact the overall performance of the landing.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 59°F and a wind speed of 1 kt from 270°. This resulted in a negligible crosswind and tailwind, which contributed to a smooth and stable approach.
The total landing distance of 1,499 feet was 27% of the runway length, indicating that the aircraft was able to stop within a reasonable distance. The runway rollout alignment was very good, suggesting that the pilot maintained control and managed the deceleration effectively. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft achieving a high score and demonstrating good control and management throughout the approach and landing phases.
