Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 13,118 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 1,058 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 5 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Vision Jet, then departed from runway 01 at OJAQ Aqaba King Hussein International Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,315 feet, which accounted for 13% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 98 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 77 degrees Fahrenheit and a wind speed of 17 knots at a direction of 10 degrees.
The crosswind component was minimal at 2 knots, while the headwind component was 17 knots. As the aircraft took off, it began its enroute climb, which started overhead OJAQ Aqaba King Hussein International Airport. The climb took the aircraft from an altitude of 1,149 feet above sea level to 30,335 feet above sea level, an increase of 29,187 feet, in 19 minutes and covering a distance of 55 nautical miles.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 43 miles west of HETB Taba International Airport. This phase lasted for 23 minutes and covered a distance of 109 nautical miles. The enroute descent phase began 15 miles south of HE13 Wadi Al Jandali and took the aircraft from an altitude of 30,696 feet above sea level to 2,282 feet above sea level, a decrease of 28,414 feet, in 21 minutes and covering a distance of 31 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 05R at HECA Cairo International Airport was made from the southwest, with a heading of 46.0 degrees at an altitude of 1,910 feet above ground level and a distance of 3 nautical miles from the runway. The landing was successful, with a touchdown distance of 1,052 feet, which was good, and a touchdown speed of 67 knots, which was also good. The touchdown rate was smooth at -142 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 77 degrees Fahrenheit and a wind speed of 14 knots at a direction of 50 degrees. The crosswind component was minimal at 0 knots, while the headwind component was 14 knots. The total landing distance was 4,018 feet, which accounted for 31% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking, which took 5 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The total flight distance was 203 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 79 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 515 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Vision Jet successfully completed a landing at HECA Cairo International Airport, showcasing exceptional piloting skills and adherence to standard operating procedures. The aircraft approached the runway from the southwest, aligning itself with the 46.0° heading at a distance of 3 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,910 feet above ground level.
Upon reaching the final approach, the pilot maintained a steady course, taking into account the local weather conditions. The temperature was a comfortable 77°F, and the wind was blowing at 14 knots from a direction of 50°. This resulted in a negligible crosswind component of 0 knots, but a significant headwind of 14 knots, which the pilot effectively managed.
The threshold speed was slightly above the target of 75 knots, but this did not impact the overall performance of the landing. The aircraft touched down smoothly at a speed of 67 knots, with a descent rate of -142 feet per minute. This indicates a well-executed flare, where the pilot gradually reduced the aircraft's rate of descent to ensure a safe and controlled touchdown.
The touchdown distance of 1,052 feet was within acceptable limits, and the aircraft remained aligned with the runway centerline throughout the rollout. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, demonstrating the pilot's ability to maintain control and stability during the critical phase of the landing.
The total landing distance of 4,018 feet was 31% of the runway length, which is a respectable figure considering the headwind component. Overall, the Vision Jet's landing at HECA Cairo International Airport was a testament to the pilot's skill and experience, as well as the aircraft's capabilities. The landing scored an impressive 99.5%, reflecting the high level of proficiency and safety demonstrated during the operation.
