Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,391 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 267 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking area to the runway, which took 12 minutes and covered a distance of 4 nautical miles. The aircraft, an Airbus A320, then departed from runway 35L at KDFW Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,677 meters, which accounted for 41% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 165 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time of departure were a temperature of 4 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 5 knots at 59 degrees.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb, which started overhead KDFW Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. The climb took 11 minutes and covered a distance of 127 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from an altitude of 1,583 feet above sea level to 35,575 feet above sea level, an increase of 33,992 feet. The enroute level cruise then began 5 miles northeast of 26OK Duck Creek Airport Mounds, Oklahoma, and lasted for 30 minutes, covering a distance of 534 nautical miles.
The enroute descent started 3 miles south of IS41 Vogen Restricted Landing Area Newark, Illinois, and took 15 minutes to descend from an altitude of 35,418 feet above sea level to 1,954 feet above sea level, a decrease of 33,464 feet. The descent covered a distance of 100 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 25L at KMKE General Mitchell International Airport was made from the east, with a heading of 252.0 degrees at an altitude of 1,215 feet above ground level, 4 nautical miles from the runway.
The landing on runway 25L was successful, with a touchdown distance of 267 meters, which was 50% of the runway length. The touchdown speed was 131 knots, and the touchdown rate was firm at -317 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, and the runway rollout alignment was perfect. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of -15 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 4 knots at 279 degrees.
The total flight distance was 771 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 72 minutes. The aircraft used 4,244 kilograms of fuel during the flight. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking area took 2 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed on runway 25L at General Mitchell International Airport (KMKE) with a score of 99.0%. The aircraft approached the runway from the east, heading 252.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,215 feet above ground level (agl).
The landing was executed with precision, with the aircraft touching down on the runway at a speed of 131 knots, which was within the acceptable threshold speed of 135 knots. The touchdown distance of 267 meters was also within the expected range, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. The touchdown rate of -317 feet per minute (fpm) was firm, suggesting a stable and controlled landing.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were quite challenging, with a temperature of -15°C and a wind speed of 4 knots from 279°. However, the aircraft's performance was not significantly affected by these conditions, with a crosswind of only 2 knots and a headwind of 3 knots. This suggests that the pilots were able to effectively manage the aircraft's speed and direction to compensate for the wind.
The total landing distance of 1,193 meters was 50% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing distance. This is a testament to the aircraft's performance and the pilots' skill in executing a precise and controlled landing. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, suggesting that the pilots were able to maintain control of the aircraft throughout the landing process.
Overall, the landing of the Airbus A320 on runway 25L at General Mitchell International Airport was a success, with a score of 99.0%. The aircraft's performance was impressive, and the pilots' skill and experience were evident in the precision and control of the landing.
