Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,353 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 225 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 10 minutes and covered a distance of 5 nautical miles. The aircraft, an Airbus A320, then departed from runway 22 at LSGG Geneva Cointrin International Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,643 meters, which accounted for 46% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 156 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time of departure were a temperature of 4 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 5 knots at a direction of 30 degrees.
The crosswind component was 1 knot, while the tailwind component was 4 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting overhead the town of Vernier in Switzerland. The climb took 19 minutes and covered a distance of 107 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from an altitude of 2,457 feet above sea level to 37,961 feet above sea level, an increase of 35,504 feet.
Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started overhead the town of Montigny-Montfort in France. This phase lasted for 66 minutes and covered a distance of 464 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 7 miles northwest of the town of Grassington in England. The descent took 21 minutes and covered a distance of 118 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from an altitude of 37,608 feet above sea level to 4,820 feet above sea level, a decrease of 32,788 feet.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started overhead the town of Chapelhall in Scotland. This phase lasted for only 2 minutes and covered a distance of 9 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent, starting 1 mile west of the town of Banknock in Scotland. The descent took 6 minutes and covered a distance of 12 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from an altitude of 4,812 feet above sea level to 1,311 feet above sea level, a decrease of 3,501 feet.
The final approach to runway 23 at EGPF Glasgow International Airport was made from the north-east, with a heading of 227.0 degrees at an altitude of 1,276 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway. The landing was made on runway 23, which had a length of 2,353 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also good at 137 knots.
However, the touchdown speed was a little fast at 137 knots, and the touchdown rate was heavy at -602 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was misaligned by 13.9 meters from the centreline. The total landing distance was 1,175 meters, which accounted for 50% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also misaligned by 19.0 meters from the centreline.
The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 7 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 721 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 130 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 4,590 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed at EGPF Glasgow International Airport, but with some notable areas for improvement. The aircraft was approaching the runway from the north east, heading 227.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,276 feet above ground level. The final approach was executed with a good threshold height, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 137 knots.
However, the touchdown speed of 137 knots was slightly faster than ideal, which may have contributed to the heavy touchdown rate of -602 feet per minute. This could potentially put additional stress on the aircraft's landing gear and may require further investigation to determine the cause. Additionally, the runway touchdown position was misaligned by 13.9 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the aircraft's approach path.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were relatively calm, with a temperature of 10°C and a wind speed of 8 knots from 210°. The crosswind component was minimal at 2 knots, while the headwind component was 8 knots, which may have helped to stabilize the aircraft during the approach. The total landing distance of 1,175 meters was 50% of the runway length, which is within acceptable limits.
During the rollout phase, the aircraft's alignment was again found to be misaligned from the centerline, this time by 19.0 meters. This may indicate a slight deviation in the aircraft's control during the rollout phase, which could be due to a variety of factors including pilot error or aircraft performance issues. Overall, while the landing was successful, there are areas for improvement in terms of touchdown speed, touchdown rate, and rollout alignment.
