MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,743 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 583 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 2 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-600, then departed from runway 22 at CYYE Fort Nelson Airport. The takeoff distance was 901 meters, which accounted for 47% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 146 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were a temperature of -10°C, with a wind speed of 1 knot at 160°. The crosswind was 1 knot, and the headwind was 0 knots. After takeoff, the aircraft began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile southwest of CYYE Fort Nelson Airport. The climb took 35 minutes, during which the aircraft ascended from 2,327 feet above sea level to 39,034 feet above sea level, an increase of 36,707 feet. The enroute climb covered a distance of 270 nautical miles.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise, starting 13 miles northwest of High Prairie, Alberta, Canada. This cruise phase lasted for 150 minutes and covered a distance of 962 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 7 miles south of 0V6 Mission Sioux Mission, South Dakota, United States. The descent took 14 minutes, during which the aircraft descended from 39,051 feet above sea level to 2,856 feet above sea level, a decrease of 36,194 feet. The enroute descent covered a distance of 196 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, starting 2 miles east of Winnebago, Nebraska, United States. This cruise phase lasted for only 3 minutes and covered a distance of 8 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 31 at KSUX Sioux Gateway Airport / Brigadier General Bud Day Field, approaching from the southeast at a heading of 316.0°. The aircraft was at an altitude of 4 nautical miles and 1,251 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 31 was successful, with a touchdown point 159 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 132 knots, which was a little fast, but the touchdown rate was smooth at -103 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was very good. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of -5°C, with a wind speed of 18 knots at 328°. The crosswind was 4 knots, and the headwind was 17 knots. The total landing distance was 1,014 meters, which accounted for 37% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was perfect.
The final taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 1 minute and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 1,442 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 209 minutes. The aircraft used 9,610 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-600 aircraft successfully landed at KSUX Sioux Gateway Airport / Brigadier General Bud Day Field, achieving a score of 98.2%. The final approach to runway 31 was initiated from the southeast, heading 316.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,251 feet above ground level.
The aircraft touched down on the runway, with the threshold height being described as good. However, the threshold speed was above the target, reaching 147 knots. The touchdown point was located 159 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, which may indicate a slight deviation from the intended landing spot. The touchdown speed of 132 knots was slightly faster than desired, but the touchdown rate was smooth at -103 feet per minute.
The runway touchdown alignment was reported to be very good, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway during the landing. The local weather conditions at the time of the landing included a temperature of -5°C, with a wind speed of 18 knots from 328°. The crosswind component was minimal at 4 knots, while the headwind component was 17 knots, which likely contributed to the smooth touchdown rate.
The total landing distance was 1,014 meters, which accounted for 37% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was described as perfect, indicating that the aircraft maintained a stable and controlled path after touchdown. Overall, the landing was successful, with the aircraft achieving a high score and demonstrating good control and stability during the approach and touchdown phases.
