Improve the taxi
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,757 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 154 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 3 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-900, then departed from runway 01L at KAPC Napa County Airport. The takeoff distance was 839 meters, which accounted for 47% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 152 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions with a temperature of 14 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 3 knots at 330 degrees. The crosswind was 2 knots, and the headwind was also 2 knots. After departing from KAPC, the aircraft began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile north of the airport and ascending from 1,040 feet above sea level to 36,745 feet above sea level, an increase of 35,705 feet in 27 minutes, covering a distance of 157 nautical miles.
The enroute climb was followed by a level cruise, which started 5 miles west of Wadsworth, Nevada, and lasted for 116 minutes, covering a distance of 1,104 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 1 mile south of Echo, Minnesota, and descending from 36,825 feet above sea level to 3,370 feet above sea level, a decrease of 33,455 feet in 10 minutes, covering a distance of 92 nautical miles.
Following the descent, the aircraft entered another level cruise, which started 1 mile north of Osseo, Minnesota, and lasted for 4 minutes, covering a distance of 15 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 14 at KSTP Saint Paul Downtown Holman Field was made from the northwest, heading 146.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,274 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 14 was successful, with a touchdown distance of 155 meters, which was good. The touchdown speed was 126 knots, which was a little fast, and the touchdown rate was fair at -242 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, and the runway rollout alignment was perfect. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 17 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 4 knots at 159 degrees, with a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 4 knots.
The total landing distance was 634 meters, which accounted for 36% of the runway. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 2 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 1,374 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 165 minutes. The aircraft used 9,090 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-900 aircraft successfully landed at KSTP Saint Paul Downtown Holman Field, achieving a score of 99.5%. The final approach to runway 14 was conducted from the northwest, with a heading of 146.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,274 feet above ground level.
The aircraft touched down on the runway with a good threshold height, indicating a precise and controlled descent. The threshold speed of 130 knots was also satisfactory, demonstrating the pilot's ability to manage the aircraft's speed during the landing phase. The touchdown distance of 155 meters was within acceptable limits, further highlighting the pilot's skill and control.
However, the touchdown speed of 126 knots was slightly faster than desired, which may have resulted in a slightly higher touchdown rate of -242 feet per minute. This could potentially have caused some disturbance to the aircraft's stability upon touchdown, but it did not appear to have any significant impact on the overall landing performance.
The runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot maintained a precise course during the final approach and touchdown phases. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 17°C and a gentle headwind of 4 knots, were favorable for the landing.
The total landing distance of 634 meters was 36% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. This suggests that the pilot was able to bring the aircraft to a stop quickly and efficiently, with a perfect runway rollout alignment. Overall, the landing was a success, with the pilot demonstrating excellent control and precision throughout the final approach and touchdown phases.
