MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Speed on the slow side
Between four hundred and a thousand feet you're heavy, close to the ground and still carrying flap, and speed is the margin holding all three apart. Slow here doesn't feel like anything — the aeroplane climbs, the nose is up, nothing complains — right up until a turn, a gust or a bank tightens the wing's job and the margin is already gone. The fix is rarely "fly faster", it's lowering the nose a degree and letting the speed build before the next thing you do. Pitch buys altitude, speed buys options, and at this height options are the scarcer of the two.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,092 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 366 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from London Gatwick Airport, the Airbus A321 began its journey by taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 9 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. Upon reaching runway 26L, the aircraft initiated its departure roll, accelerating down the 2,790-meter runway. The takeoff distance covered 41% of the runway, and the aircraft lifted off at a speed of 161 knots. The local weather conditions at the time of departure featured a temperature of 17°C, with a wind speed of 28 knots from a direction of 240°, resulting in a headwind component of 27 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to its enroute cruise altitude, it passed overhead Charlwood, Surrey, England, and continued to ascend to 34,650 feet above sea level, a gain of 33,491 feet in 20 minutes. The enroute climb phase covered a distance of 137 nautical miles. Following a brief level cruise phase, the aircraft began its descent, starting 1 mile south west of Norden, Lower Saxony, Germany. The descent from 35,028 feet to 3,110 feet above sea level, a decrease of 31,918 feet, took 19 minutes and covered 109 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered a second level cruise phase, this time lasting only 2 minutes as it flew over Seth, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, before commencing its final descent. The aircraft touched down on runway 23 at Hamburg Helmut Schmidt Airport, with a touchdown distance of 368 meters and a speed of 133 knots. The total landing distance covered 49% of the 2,790-meter runway.
The flight's final phase involved taxiing to the parking area, a process that took 6 minutes and covered 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 455 nautical miles, and the aircraft used 3,801 kilograms of fuel during the journey. The flight duration was 81 minutes, and the aircraft performed well in terms of runway alignment and touchdown speed. The local weather conditions at the time of landing featured a temperature of 16°C, with a wind speed of 4 knots from a direction of 220°, resulting in a headwind component of 4 knots.
The aircraft touched down on runway 23 at EDDH Hamburg Helmut Schmidt Airport with a satisfactory approach quality, demonstrating good control and precision throughout the descent. The final approach was initiated from the north east, heading 230.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,312 feet above ground level. The aircraft maintained a steady descent, aligning perfectly with the runway centerline as it touched down at a speed of 133 knots, slightly above the target touchdown speed.
The touchdown characteristics were generally good, with a touchdown distance of 368 meters, which was within acceptable limits. However, the touchdown speed was a little fast, indicating that the pilot may have been able to maintain a more controlled descent. The touchdown rate of -229 feet per minute was fair, suggesting that the aircraft was able to absorb the impact of touchdown relatively smoothly. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, with the aircraft remaining precisely on the centerline.
The rollout phase was executed smoothly, with the aircraft maintaining excellent centerline alignment throughout. The total landing distance of 1,365 meters, which accounted for 49% of the runway length, was within acceptable limits. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was slightly above target at 140 knots. Overall, the landing was executed with a high degree of precision and control, earning a score of 99.5%.
